Leon was a 14 year old Blank. He and his entire direct family did not have the power of magic born in them. Blanks are humans, born with no power to magic but however have the ability to learn it. The Blanks have a colourless magic, it appears white, and is stuck to only basic spells.
Leon’s father had tried to teach him how to use magic since a young age however he never had the ability to use it.
His other family members teased him for it.
Leon was approaching 15 and on his fifteenth birthday his father would have him sent to a special school for those with magic powers.
“He hasn’t got the power to use magic! He will be bullied and looked down upon by other magic’s.” Leon’s mother protested.
Leon’s mother was 45 average height and wore a long white dress that was expected of all Blank women.
“No more bullied and looked down on than he is already, his cousins used to use him as target practice at least if he is at a school he can be protected by teachers.” Leon’s father argued back.
Leon’s father was very tall, about 6 feet 7 inches and like all other Blank men he had to wear white robes.
Leon stood behind his bedroom door listening to his parent’s arguments.
Unlike his parent’s, older sister and slightly younger brother he broke the clothing rule. Never would he wear white by itself.
Leon heard a banging on his bedroom window. Outside was a boy the same age as Leon.
“Hey Leon, come outside.” The boy spoke with a strong Irish accent.
“Blaine! What are you doing here mate, mum and Dad are arguing, I’ll get in trouble for having you here.”
“Come out man, Blaine is over the fence.”
“Give me a moment mate”.
Colin was only a few months younger than Leon, he was a red magic and wore red track pants and red shirt under a red hoodie. He had a strong Irish accent and even his hair was red.
Leon ran over to his window and pulled as hard as he could till it opened.
“Let me get my shoes”.
Leon ran to his bed, at the foot was two black runners. He slid them onto his feet, they were large enough to fit but small enough that they didn’t bounce around when he walked and ran.
Leon jumped out the window closing it behind him.
Leon and Colin heard the voice of a Scottish boy.
“C’mon lads let’s get out a here.”
Leon popped his head over the fence and there, just as Colin had said was Blaine.
“Hey Laddie, how are yeh?” Blaine asked.
What are ya doing here mate?”
‘We’re bustin you out for da even in bud.’ Exclaimed Blaine.
‘C’mon lads let’s get out a-‘
Before Colin could finish what he was about to say Leon’s father flung the bedroom door open.
‘Jump!’ hissed Leon at Colin and they both did, escaping the view of Leon’s father before it was too late.
‘He’s gone and run away again!’
Leon, Colin and Blaine ran as fast as they could, through blocks of unbuilt land and a park till finally they reached a huge tree in a small reserve.
