Leon balanced himself back onto his feet. He shook as he stared at the ground.
‘Wha- how could he?’ Alexandra asked herself. She was covering her mouth with her hands in shock and shaking. Alexandra shook her head and shouted ‘Leon get out of there!’ he didn’t hear her and instead took small slow steps towards Malqua, shaking with both fear and anger.
Malqua put down the woman and looked up at Leon.
‘Death is natural.’ He spoke at Leon but not quiet to him. ‘My wife Salina knew this; she and I have both accepted that one die we will both die. Life is fleeting and death is eternal and so much like her I am ready to embrace death when it comes and much like us…’ Now Malqua glared directly at Leon as he stepped over Salina’s body and towards him. ‘So should you.’
Water on the ground shook and rippled but Leon just kept on standing dead still as if a frozen statue.
Alexandra realised something was happening, something inside her told her that she needed to save Leon from Malqua.
Without a moment’s hesitation she sprang forward towards Leon as fast as she could but as she reached only a few more steps away a giant wall of water sprang up in front of her and swallowed up Leon.
‘Leon no!’ Alexandra shouted.
The column of water swallowed up Malqua as well and as it did it began to reform into a dragon. The upper half of Malqua emerged at the head of the dragon as it began to fully form.
Leon could be seen in the chest of the dragon almost entirely still as if unconscious.
Everyone, even Erikson stared at the dragon of water paralyzed, unable to move any part of their bodies.
Things began to rush through Leon’s head, what would happen to him; his friends. Would he die? Would they? Leon could feel himself running out of air and as it did things for some reason unknown to him began to become clearer. His friends needed him, he wouldn’t let them die, he wouldn’t let himself die he had to live for the sake of his friends.
Leon clenched his fists and as he did he felt a power he had only truly felt once before.
The water around him, though it had felt like it was crushing him now felt almost non-existent. Leon could feel the flow of the mana in the water and his own...
Finally Leon opened his eyes, they were a bright and deep sapphire coloured blue. A large burst of blue mana swelled up around him and exploded all the water surrounding him and just like that the giant water dragon exploded in a bright magnificent flash of blue.
Malqua was thrown to the ground. Muddy water lay around him, he was soaked but it didn’t seem to bother him. He got back to his feet and almost uninjured apart from a few scratches or small bruises from his fall.
He glanced up and saw Leon covered by a sphere of blue magic floating in the air. After a moment or two Leon descended back down to the ground and the blue mana dissipated.
Leon’s clothes had changed, he was wearing a blue trench coat and his hair had changed too, although it was still brown it was more ridged and upward at the back and there were streaks of a lighter brown that resembled lightning bolts.
In his hand was the same metallic blue katana he had fought Edward with.
Alexandra, Collin, Blaine and Kelly all stood on in shock, the only one that wasn’t really surprised was Erikson.
‘Is that really Leon?’ Alexandra asked herself.
The water on the ground seemed to vibrate in fear. Ripples turned into small splashes. The sky became clouded and not by normal clouds, by storm clouds they seemed fitting to behold the terrifying aw of Leon’s and Malqua’s power.
Leon felt different, he felt stronger, more confident.
‘I’m giving you one chance.’ He shouted at Malqua. ‘One chance to come quietly and hand yourself in. it would be far preferable to avoid any more un-necessary violence.’
Malqua laughed. He seemed to think Leon was joking or that Leon was a joke all together.
‘After a display of power such as that you expect me to not want to fight you? My boy you should be a comedian!’ he continued laughing.
A look of annoyance crossed Leon’s face. ‘I’m not your boy and I’m not joking. If you don’t surrender, I will hurt you.’
‘Oh no the child is going to hurt me!’ Malqua laughed more.
‘Enough.’ Leon spoke. ‘if your attempting to provoke me you’re not.’
Leon began to walk to Malqua.
‘Fine if you want to fight then we will!’ Malqua shouted.
