A world without you

Chapter 31 - Astrid's POV

I held Hiccup's hand as we walked towards the dragons. It was time, we were going home. I was a bit anxious about how it would be to see my parents again and then it was Valka and Stoick. I knew that Stoick would love it when Valka came back but anything could happen. Valka walked to us, I could see that she was anxious. She looked at me a bit worried.
"How are you Astrid?" She asked. Hiccup turned to me with a wondering face.
"I'm fine." I lied " how come?"
"Just wondering." She said playing casual. I didn't understand. What did she mean?
"See you among the clouds." She waved and walked towards Cloudjumper before I could ask her.
Hiccup looked worried at me.
"Sure that you're okay?"
"Of course." I hated to lie but I hated more to see him worrying. I was not sure about if he believed me but at least he smiled and held me closer.
I got up on Toothless back behind Hiccup. I held my arms around his waist and rested my head against the back of his shoulder.
We came to the edge a couple of hours later. Toothless landed outside my house. It had been a year since I was there the last time and it felt strange. Heather landed behind us and she walked up to my side with Hiccup.
"She's probably on the other side of the house." he said
"Go. we're waiting here for you." Heather said. And I went.
When I rounded the corner I directly saw Stormfly but she was different. She was broken and sad. She looked up and saw me and we ran too each other and I hugged her. It was in that moment that I realized that all of this was real and I weren't dreaming. Tears ran down my cheeks but they were tears of happiness.
