When I saw Astrid go behind her house and out of sight I had a hard time not to run after her. I couldn't get rid of the feeling that if I couldn't see her for more than a couple minutes then someone would take her away from me again. It was not that I didn't trust that she could take care of herself, I knew she could very well, but I was so afraid to lose her again. I started to walk back and forth in a try to handle my stress, Heather noticed but stayed as she was. Good. She couldn't help anyway.
When I saw how Stormfly flied far up in the sky and heard Astrid's scream of joy I felt the stress fall of me as fast as Stormfly rised to the sky. I met Toothless and jumped onto his back and we flew away after my girlfriend. We flew up to their side and Astrid had the biggest smile I've ever seen her have. I smiled back at her, I was so happy that she felt that joy, it meant that if she could be so happy after want she's been through so can I. Maybe everything can go back to normal again and someday we could stop thinking of this and live like it didn't happen. Maybe.
We met up with the others and headed back for Berk.
When we landed on the familiar ground of home i felt nervous because I knew that my dad would run out that door to see me and find that there was also mom and I was not sure about what was going to happen. I was 99 percent sure that he would be more than happy to see her but I would've loved to have that last percent.
Astrid came to me and whispered in my ear.
"Everything's going to be fine. Trust me." I took her hand and held it tight. At least I had her. Always.
