Chapter seventeen: Moment of happiness

Kaylee wanted me to spend time with her this weekend since we haven't been hanging out lately. Of course I agreed to it, because I love hanging out with Kaylee.

Her mom is super chill also, and I like hanging around her too.

Kaylee wanted a sleepover and when I told her that we were twenty something year olds, she didn't understand why we couldn't have a sleepover.

I didn't argue anymore as I packed some clothes into a bag then placed it in my car. I saw Will walking over and I smiled at him. "What's up, William?"

"Where are you going?" He eyed my bags. "Spending the night with your girlfriend." He smiled.

I roll my eyes. "Yeah, I wish. But no, I'm going over to Kaylee's to spend the night."

"Kaylee?" He asks.

Oh that's right, they never met.

"Next time you two need to meet. She's really cool." I said as I shut my door and watched him.

He smiled. "Is she single?"

"She's bi." I said as I watched him.

He nods. "Cool, so I have a chance?"

I shook my head. "I don't know dude. I gotta go though."

We said our goodbyes and I got into my car. I saw a text from Scarlett telling me that they'll be here tonight for sure.

I texted back and told her that I was staying at Kaylee's tonight, so they could either use my spare key I have hidden or whatever.

I also texted Emma today and told her that I was going to spend the night with Kaylee. She told me to have fun and she would see me this weekend since we were suppose to hang out.

I couldn't wait.

I pulled the seat belt over my chest then left the parking lot. I got into the main road and luckily, I remembered the address by heart.

It didn't take more than twenty minutes to get there. I pulled into the driveway and saw an extra car in the driveway as well.

I got out and stared at the car until I walked up to the door and knocked then waited. I heard the door open a few moments later and Kaylee smiled at me then told me to come inside.

I followed her into the living room and saw Jordan sitting on the couch with a book in her hands. When she looked up and saw me, she smiled.

"Hey, Dakota. How are you?" She asked.

I smiled at her. "I'm great. How are you?"

She nods. "I'm also great." She looked at my bags in my hands. "Are you spending the night?"

I nod. "Yes ma'am." I looked over at Kaylee as she was watching us.

"I told you, mom." Kaylee said as she looked at Jordan. "You just don't remember."

Jordan stared at her. "Are you sure you told me?"

"Yes, mother." Kaylee said. "You're getting old, so you can't remember."

Jordan stared at her. "Watch your mouth."

I chuckled as I watched them then Kaylee told me to follow her upstairs to her room. I walked with her to her room and sat my bag down on the floor as Kaylee was sitting on the bed.

"I like your mom." I said as I stood in front of a picture.

Kaylee stared at me. "You said that before." She smiled.
