"What are you doing here?" Emily asks as we were both standing in the living room with Paul who was standing not even ten feet away from us.
I looked down at Emma as she was laying on her side on the floor, she was breathing but I saw blood on the side of her face. I stepped closer.
"I wouldn't if I was you." Paul said.
I looked at him. "What the hell did you do to her?"
Emily ran over towards her and Paul pushed her back. "What did you do to her?!" Emily pushed him back.
"This has nothing to do with you, sweetie." Paul said towards Emily.
"I want to know what you did to my mom."
I watched as Paul looked down at Emma then back at us. "I didn't think you would be here." He looked towards me. "I thought it was just gonna be you walking through the door."
Emily looked over at me and I looked back at her. "What the hell does she have to do with this?" Emily asked.
Paul stepped over Emma then stood there staring at us. "You just don't know what she has caused, Emily. She tore your mom and I apart."
"You weren't even together." Emily said.
Paul shook his head. "But we were working on it. We were trying to make our lives better again and become a family."
Lies.
I stared at him as I heard nothing but lies. He has no idea that I know everything.
"If that's the case, then why abuse Emma? What does that have to do with anything? Shouldn't you come after me?"
I watched as he stood there not knowing what to say. I knew that he wouldn't have a response, so why not push him over the edge?
"Why couldn't you come after me? Aren't I the homewrecker?" I walked towards him. "Shouldn't I be the one you hurt? Why Emma? Huh?" I watched as he stared at me. "I know everything, Paul.
"You think I'm scared of you?" He asked. "What are you going to do? Call the cops? Go ahead. Beat me up?" He laughed. "I'd like to see you try."
I stared at him. "I know everything about you." I watched his eyes. "Everything."
He stared at me for a moment until he jumped after me. He grabbed ahold of my neck and I heard Emily start yelling.
I grabbed his wrists but his grip was tightening on my neck as I was gasping for air.
Emily came up behind him and started hitting his back. It didn't do much, but it did make him loosen his grip on me and I had enough time to take him to the ground.
We fought for a minute as I was struggling to try and do something. He was so much stronger than I was, but I was trying my hardest to do something.
I heard Emily yelling, but I was only focused on trying to hurt Paul. I grabbed his wrists and tried to push them down but he was much stronger and I was.
"Call the police!" I yelled at Emily.
When he got out of my grip, he quickly grabbed my throat. I took this opportunity to punch him in the face, but when I did it wasn't enough.
His grip was tighter around my throat but I didn't think I could hit him any harder.
I leaned forward and swung my fist as hard as I can. To my surprise, his grip loosened, but not enough.
I swung my fist again.
And again.
And again.
