"Dakota!"

I stopped fixing my hair as I stared at myself in the mirror. I have heard my name being called fifty times in the last thirty minutes.

If I hear it one more time, I'm going to scream.

I finished fixing my hair then I got a text from Kaylee telling me she was ready and her mom was going to drop her off in a few minutes.

I texted back then looked at myself in the mirror. My hair still didn't look right and I messed with it for ten minutes already.

I heard footsteps then saw Emily through the mirror standing at the door. "My mom wants you."

"Yeah, I know. I heard her for the last half hour." I shook my head. "Tell her I'll be there in a moment." She left then I continued to mess with my hair until it looked right.

Veronica said that it wasn't mandatory to wear a dress, but it would go right with the setting since it was a wedding. I don't wear dresses, so I somehow got out of wearing one.

Instead, I'm wearing a plain white shirt with a vest and jeans. It looked good and I was happy that I didn't have to wiggle my way into a dress.

I flipped my hair to one side as I took a step back to check out my outfit. Everything looked good except the bra I was wearing kept going off to one side and it was driving me insane.

I tried fixing it through my shirt, but it wouldn't work. I sighed as I lifted my shirt up and fixed it. No matter what I did, it still wouldn't work.

As I was trying to fix my bra, I heard a voice and I saw Emma walk in the room but soon stopped as I stared at her through the mirror.

She kept staring at me until I saw her eyes travel down then back up. I caught a slight redness on her face before she looked away.

"Sorry, I just came barging in."

I chuckled as I let my shirt fall back down. "This is your room."

"Right." She cleared her throat then walked further in. "I need my room so Veronica can help with my dress."

I nodded as I turned around. "Well, I was done anyways." I walked past her but she wrapped her arm around my stomach and pulled me back.

"You look good by the way." She smiled at me.

I smiled back. "You look good too."

She gave me a confused look. "I'm not dressed up yet."

"I know." I pecked her lips then left the room.

I walked downstairs in time for Veronica to walk in carrying a few dresses. She smiled at me then walked upstairs. I went to the kitchen and saw Emily standing in front of the counter looking at a book.

"What are you doing?" I asked as I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge.

She looked at me. "Well, since you always want to know what I'm doing," She flipped a page in the book while staring at me. "I am reading, Dakota. This is a book," She held it up. "for reading." She slightly smiled.

"Oh, that's what it was?" I shrugged as I took a sip.

She rolled her eyes then looked back at the book. "You're an idiot."

I smiled at her as she was dressed up. She looked nice because I never saw her actually wearing something decent. She always wore short shorts and shirts that were too tight.

"You look nice." I said as I watched her eyes catch mine.

She nods. "I know." She continued to look at her book then after a moment, she caught me still staring at her. "What?"
