Chapter 9

' nawa oh Kaima, can you imagine how worried I was. I thought one of those kanjified area boys kidnapped you.' Fiyin said immediately I got to school and I rolled my eyes. Honestly menstrual cramps brought the worst of mood swings. 'Kaima what happened. Are you sick' Anulika asked ignoring Fiyin. I patted my abdomen and she got the message.' Oh, sorry you hear. I'm scared of those. I dont really experience it. Is it that bad.' She asked me quietly hugging me so Fiyin wont hear and I nodded, then I opened my eyes and saw Jidenna right behind Anulika. Seriously did he have to be there when bad things were happening. 'Ahn you guys won't tell me what happened to her. I'm sure I can guess what is wrong with her.' Fiyin said.' Fiyin mind your business. They are best friends and they dont want to tell you.' Jidenna said and I was grateful to him because I didnt want Fiyin to start talking, and he was righ. Anulika was becoming my best friend. 'Okay ooh let me be going jeje.' Fiyin said and I was glad he didn't feel offended. 'Let's go to the school clinic.' Anulika said. Strange how I haven't been here for more than a week and this will be the second time,I'm visiting there.
'Do you want to sleep here' the nurse asked when we got there and realised they didn't have the right drug for my cramps.' No I'm fine, it'll go down with time.' I said while Anulika stared at me with pity.' Ok but if want to lie a bit later, come back ' nurse Ola said and I left with Anulika, 'are you sure you are ok' Anulika asked.' Yes oo. Stop worrying and tell me what you wanted to say last night. Did you sleep with Tobe.' I asked curious. 'No, I thank God I didn't but sometimes I let him do things to my breast and he'll slap my ass when he felt like. Now, when I tried breaking up with him, he said he'll tell my new boyfriend how cheap I am and he'd send my nudes to the group chat.' She said in tears. 'He has your nudes.' I asked.' I never sent them but he says he has them. I cant risk it. What if a girl in hostel sent it to him.' She said and I hugged her ' it's okay. I didnt know Tobe was such a big fool. Nothing will happen. Can't we get Fiyin to remove him.' I said.' What if Fiyin wants to know why. What if Tobe tells him or shows him the pictures.' She cried more and my dysmenorrhoea was forgotten for now. It was wierd seeing the always cheerful Anulika all broken in tears.' But Fiyin is your Ex, I'm sure he'll put Tobe in his place.' I said sadly.' Exactly, I broke up with him not the other way around. What if he still holds a grudge for it.you know how Fiyin can be.' She said.'Fiyin's not like that. just try to calm down okay, we dont want anyone asking questions when we get to class. Ndo ' I said and she smiled a bit. 'Welldone oo.you guys are sharp oo see how you escaped Mrs test.' Fiyin said.'shut up joor' Anulika said and I was glad that she was back to herself.' Were you crying,she your eyes red like aje's(witch) own.' Why won't you know how an aje's eyes will be when you're part of them. Nonsense' Anulika glared at him. Did this people seriously date.' Please it's okay, you're giving me an headache.' I said, as the pain came back with full force. 'Tell your friend to shut up' Fiyin said and Jidenna came to his seat beside Fiyin, preventing their further argument because the arrangement was I in front of Fiyin with Anulika beside me and in front of Jidenna who was beside Fiyin. He stared at me a bit like he wanted to say something and I tried smiling at him, he gave an uninterested look and looked away. And I thought he didn't hate me again.' Oshey, this night is social night. I can't wait for school to be over' Fiyin said suddenly, as if he had been thinking of it since. Knowing Fiyin, he was. Mr Bola entered the class with a huge smile like he won a lottery. 'What is this guy doing here now.' Fiyin whispered. True, we were having civic education now not economics. 'So your civic education teacher followed the SS2 students to Olumo rock for their excursion so I told her I'll take her period so you people will not disturb the school.' Mr Bola said and Anulika looked like she would faint. She didnt pick her napping sit.' Ehn' Fiyin shouted when he heard the news.'what happened, better bring out your note we have a three pages note on Asian tigers and I must mark it before I leave here!' Mr Bola said earning grumbling from everybody in the class but he ignored us and started writing. 'See how Mrs George has fucked up.' Fiyin grumbled as he wrote his note.
Two pages into the note,I was already feeling dizzy. Abeg why are we learning about Asian countries doing better than us, as if they are writing note on how not to be like Nigeria. Later I bowed my head and slept off. The cramps and paracetamol were making me very sleepy. Normally, I never sleep during class even if it is as boring as this'Ehehn I'm writing note and that girl is sleeping. wake her up.' Mr Bola said turning to the back as he completed the note. As Fiyin tapped my shoulder I woke up with a terrible headache and nausea, and I rushed out to vomit.' Ah abi she is pregnant too like Anulika,' Mr Bola said surprised and Anulika eyed him hard. 'Ok all of you submit your notes on Monday morning,' Mr Bola said leaving the class and Fiyin hissed' if I knew he'll say that I'll not stress my self to write the note. when I have juniors that like writing notes. Anulika what is wrong with Kaima her body was hot when I woke her.' Fiyin asked.' Maybe it is fever.' Anulika said and I walked back into the class and I could see Jidenna staring at me with what seemed like concern.' Maybe you should go and rest in the school clinic. We're having PE before school will be over.' Anulika whispered. 'I'll be fine, maybe working out will make me feel better, the only drug that makes me feel okay is herofin and they don't have it there' I said 'are you sure.' Anulika asked and I nodded.' Kaima sorry about your fever, maybe my handsomeness was just too much for you to handle in one week.' Fiyin said and I laughed while Anulika hissed.' This one will be busy hyping himself. Ugly mucheche.' Anulika said and Jidenna stood and left the class.' Nawa oh, since you came, he has been really quiet, it's strange. And Fiyin is now growing wings because there is nobody to calm him down.'Anulika said and Fiyin just shook his head.' This babe, is it that you can't stop thinking about me ni cause I dont grab why you are always on my case.' Fiyin said and Anulika tried hard not to turn red. 'Pls lets go for PE before Mr Victor will chop us.' Anulika said and Fiyin smiled in victory. 'You brought your sportwear abi' Anulika asked when we got to the girls bathroom. 'Yes, but seriously it's more like an underwear.' I said gesturing to the sportwear comprising of a tshirt and shorts. 'Before, when our proprietor is oyinbo. Abeg see how our uniform skirt is short,I sha like it because I cannot be wearing maryamaka(big and long) skirt.' Anulika said as we changed.'omo see those legs. This is turn on mehn.' Fiyin hooted when all the girls started coming to the PE field and Jidenna slapped his head. Honestly, boys were more dressed than girls in their sportwear that was similar to a basketball jersey. I went to sit on one of the
benches and watched the girls race each other and boys pretending to be lifting weights. I laughed when I saw Fiyin huffing and puffing after carrying one small dumbell, then I saw who he was trying to imitate. Jidenna was lifting the dumbell at ease. Immediately he turned and stared at me. Why was he always looking at me if he hates me. 'Fiyin dont injure yourself, put down that dumbell. Good morning everyone.' Mr victor said and some people laughed.' Now drills everybody, round the field thrice.' He said and everybody grumbled.
We started jogging round the large field.' Sometimes I think teachers have told Mr victor to punish us and that is why he is always shouting drill like a mad man' Anulika said breathlessly and I laughed. After the first jog round, I felt like vomiting so I stopped to catch my breath. The cramps started again and I squatted, enduring the pain.' Hey that girl. Do you think you are smart
Oya start your own drill, now' he shouted and I groaned.' Sir she is not feeling too well' Anulika said.'are you her lawyer. 'Mr victor said and Anulika rolled her eyes.' I said run now.' Mr Victor said.' Sir I'm not too well' I said.' How does that concern me. This is not the health clinic. Seriously, what climbed up his boxers and died there. Everybody just stared wondering what possessed one of their favourite teachers.' As I stood and held my stomach, I could see Anulika's pity eyes.' Mr victor, we came here to exercise. And concentration on one person who is clearly not interested is a complete waste of time. The least you can do is send her to the clinic, since she says she is not well. It's simply common sense sir.' A voice came from the back of the class and everyone turned to stare at Jidenna. 'Fine. Anulika, take her to the the health clinic.' Mr victor grumbled and as I passed Jidenna, he pushed a packet of herofin in my hand and walked away like nothing happen while I smiled and left.
