              "What is tommorow" Mr Salami said during the assembly the next morning."Saturday  " the ss3 shouted laughing  while the junior students echoed 'inter house sport' excitedly and Mr Salami laughed. "Yes so I hope everybody is ready. Who is prepared. " mr Salami smiled warmly which  was really weird because he was always frowning. "The volleyball and basketball finals will be this afternoon  by 2pm,  but immediately  after assembly ,meet your housemasters for inter house wears . I know most of you won't wear it but still, for all of you especially  you ss3 girls, I know  what you wear to most to social nite" He said with a glare and we all laughed. Teachers weren't  allowed to interfere in social night and I think it made them despise  us a little more. "Anyway ,I've set up a taskforce  that will make sure anybody wearing nonsense  to the field will be sent back to the hostel. You people are the ones corrupting our boys" he said and the hall was filled  with laughter
       "Emm, excuse me. Pls senior Kaima , senior Fiyin said I should tell you that Mr Jimi is calling  you ," ok where are they "I said standing up dusting off the confetti I was cutting. "Basketball court . " the junior  smiled sheepishly and ran out of our room causing all of us to laugh. "What is wrong with that one. Shey Fiyin doesn't have admirer like this " Tolani chided and I just laughed.
         "What's  up and Why Egungun" I asked Fiyin immediately  I got to the field and found a paint covered Fiyin who laughed hysterically.  "Be careful. " he laughed snatching my  packet of plantain chips to  which I glared at him. "Abeg na. I sent one mum junior to call Jidenna and tell him to bring popcorn for me, the junior has jaa (escaped )" Fiyin frowned munching on my chips. "Where is Mr Jimi ooo" I asked looking  around and Fiyin grinned.  " he's  having meeting  with the  other teachers. But boo is here oo " He winked as Jidenna made way to us. "So u didn't na call Anulika too"  I glared at Fiyin before smiling at Jidenna as he held my hand. " So she will na come and see me like this. " Fiyin blushed and I shook my head at him. "Hey , "  I smiled at Jidenna. "How are you. I didn't see you today after assembly. " he said and I shrugged. I was busy in the hostel. " ehnehn I heard that you didn't  want to be our queen or lady in house colour. You know Jidenna is man in house  color . What is a man without his lady. "Fiyin teased and Jidenna hissed. " th that would be too cliche abeg " I laughed and Jidenna frowned. " like i care about cliche" Jidenna rolled his eyes and I eyed him playfully.  " don't worry , tomorrow  you  would see the royalties.  As for how, your only  allowed to know Tolani is queen," I said and Fiyin shrugged.

           "I look ridiculous righ" Anulika asked as she hurried  to my room after dressing up the next morning. Inter sports day. She was the igbo queen of her house. "Awww!! Of course not. The attire is so mad"  i admired her igbo girl costume of the two wrappers  covering  her breast and bum, the beautiful red beads on her neck,wrists,ankles, waist and head, they even  got the chalk marking and hairstyles  correctly . With her native makeup, barefoot legs and horsewhip. I was being introduced to a new phase of Anulika  beauty. The royalties  for the inter house sports at laurels was new to me. They had each house queen from the tribes of Nigeria , king, princess  And Prince, lady in house colour, schoolgirl and school boy. Fortunately  I was picked for school girl. I was wearing a white short sleeved shirt, a really short mid skirt mde from our school uniform checked material, suspenders and a pair of long socks and navy blue tie . My roomates also packed my hair in two pigtails with hair extensions and did my makeup coupled with a goldrimmed falz glasses  "This is totally cute" Tolani squealed where she was getting  her make up done. Blue house picked Yoruba theme so Tolani was adorned in a blue Iro and Buba( top and wrapper ) and a silver gele and ipele (headgear and waist sash) . I was generally  amused by how everybody's transformation,  even Esosa looked stunning  in her Hausa attire.

            "Fiyin pls close your mouth" I laughed teasing as he stared at Anulika who was blushing. "Let me open ooo. My goodness , I thought I've seen  the most beautiful you but damn" he said as if he was  in a trance. He was our king dressed  in a blue bubba and sokoto (shirt and trouser) with a silver agbada and fila (cap),  even he looked classy " where is Jidenna  "i asked and Fiyin grinned packaging his agbada well. " she want to tempt him with those legs abi , let Mr Salami taskforce catch you " Fiyin eyed me jokingly and I laughed. "What the fuck"  I laughed  out loud when I heard a deep cat call and whistling  behind. I already knew it was the infamous Jidenna  but I wasn't prepared when I turned and took in his appearance.  As man in house colour, he was  in a navy blue blazer and chinos that fitted him so well , he was definitely breathtaking.  " no way , i wont accept. Why will man in house color be more mad than king himself"  Fiyin joked and we laughed.
        "The next track event is boys relay race. Athletes get on the field. " mr Victor, the  coordinator shouted into the Mic. So far we had concluded the March past which red house won, everyone was so impressed  with Anulika appearance too. We had also finished 100,200 and 500 mars race, which red , blue and white had won respectively. The tug of war which yellow won, javelin which my Jidenna , I mean blue house won, shot put and discuss for blue and white respectively.  Long jump and high jump for yellow and red house. Sack race which blue house won again, three legged race which red house won and many more. Now there was a tie between red and blue. Jidenna was last leg for blue house contesting against Olalekan from red house who was nicknamed flash,you can guess why.  "Chinonso!!! Bola!!! Hakeemm!!! Bobby!!! " different  house echoed their athletes name. Whoever won this race between red and blue would win the interhousesport. But if if it was yellow or white, they'd get on more point but red house winning the March past  would break the tie making them winners. Everybody was standing as we were anxious who  would win. At the third leg, blue house athlete  stumbled and fell causing all of us in the house to shout 'ooh '. Though he managed to get up quickly, I knew Jidenna would be annoyed and worried because he would have to put greater effort especially  competing with Lekan. He trotted fast immediately  the batton was passed to him. "Jidenna!!!Jidenna !!!" I joined in screaming so loud that my ears started to ring. I guess he heard my voice because he looked  and winked at me making me blushed and ppl squealed 'aww' and continued his race. At the end , he managed to surpass Lekan who started to relax as he got closer to the ending meaning We Won.
