         "I think the answer is supposed to be in surd form" Anulika explained as we studied on my bed and I nodded really uninterested, I still hated maths but I was getting better with Jidenna, Anulika and Fiyin help.  My friends were the best in maths.   "Shey you will just wait for Jidenna to explain it to you eh" Anulika pursed her lips at me. "Noo, oya im listening. Im just tir-" I was yawning when my phone rang.
    "What's up mama" I grinned widely as I picked my mum's call
"Oh my God, Chuwuka your dad-" She said tearfully and my heart dropped to my belly. "What's wrong with daddy" I said quietly for the fear of the bad news as Anulika looked worried beside me."we..we had to rush him now. He had an heart attack" mum cried and tears dropped from my eyes too."-..how now" I cried quietly hoping my other roommates wouldnt wake up. "Look, baby, the doctor's said he'll be fine ,ok so don't worry yourself. But just in case of complications, we'll have to leave Nigeria" mum said, her voice shaking. "Its ok baby, dont cry. Mummy loves you. I'll call you tomorrow" mum said and cut the call. The phone dropped from my hands as tears ran freely down my cheeks. "Come here" Anulika whispered and pulled me into a bear hug as I cried on her shoulder.

   " I need to see him. I can't concentrate" I sighed as Anulika patted my hair. "Wait, I have an idea" Anulika suddenly said like a light bulb appeared over her head. "We can use that my fake sim to call ms coker and pretend like your mum. We'll tell her that youre going home tomorrow then you'll take an uber to the hospital" Anulika said and I hugged her tight. Perks of having a smart bestie. "Hey, ms Coker asked me to like call you" Esosa sasheyed into my room the next morning when we were getting ready for class. " so you can't say simple sentence without putting like. I sorry for your Waec english oo" Lota murmured and they all laughed while she glared at us and sasheyed out again while i followed behind.

Jidenna's pov

"You're sorry, Sorry doesn't fix half of it... You just left like that without a second thought.... You didn't fucking care. Dont lie to me. Dammit, I hate you" I roared and cut the fucking call. I was so boiling right now. Thank goodness, I was all alone cuz I felt like hitting someone so bad. "Em, Jidenna" I heard a tiny frightened voice and looked up to see her with a white paper in her hands. They looked just like and I was so angry."how dare you fucking eavesdrop on my phone call" I roared standing up and she backed up a little. "I wasnt eavesdropping, anybody from even several miles away would have heard with you loud barking" she shouted back looking pissed."what the hell are you even looking. Cant you just fucking mind your goddamn business" I knew I shouldn't be yelling at her buh I was so pissed and she seemed like the best person to vent my anger on, for the fact that she reminded me so much of the reason I was pissed. "Dont yell at me the way you were yelling at the person on the fone,  ok im not that person" she said and that hit me."Fuck you. Asshole" she murmured as a tear dropped from her eyes and my heart dropped to stomach. I fucking made her cry. I was really an asshole. "Hey wait. Ka-" I started but she just ran off.
     "Where's she" I asked hurriedly as I ran back to the class. "Just leave her alone. You always find a way to hurt her, everytime" Fiyin sighed while I noticed her bag and other things were gone. "Pls just tell me where she is" I pleaded. "Why do you care" Fiyin said writing his note, he too seemed upset and I noticed Anulika wasnt in class but her bag was still there. "You know, I care about her. Stop bieng annoying Fiyin " I groaned impatiently, "you would hurt her. If you did and she cared about you alot" Fiyin glared at me."look Fiyin, my mum called and I just got angry" I said. "Why would you yell at your mum. She just had a baby, you cunt" Fiyin glared at me harder and I ran my hands through my hair in frustration." Not my step mum, idiot,  my real mum. " I whispered not believing it myself and Fiyin's eyes widened. "Oh shit , I didn't know.  Are you ok"  Fiyin asked knowing my mum was a very sour topic for me. "I will be if you fucking tell me where she is" I frowned and he swallowed with a nervous sigh." She's gone, her dad had an heart attack. She was coming to tell you when you yel-" I didnt wait to hear the rest as I ran out and towards the Laurels gate and saw Anulika returning sadly." Where is she going. What hospital" I asked shaking her. "County city hospital" she said glaring at me. "what do you think your doing or where do you think you're going" Anulika asked still glaring at me buh I ignored her. I honestly didn't know what I was doing but I knew I was going after my woman.
