Jidenna's pov

     My face still hurt like hell. Who knew such a small and soft looking palm could cause so much headache. Besides its not like I deserved it or did I. I was just trying to look out for her because I would not let anyone  hurt her,Dont ask me why.
" guy wetin cause that one now. Make I see the face sef-( guy what caused it let me even see the face)." Fiyin my best friend ranted when he got to hostel, I was on my bed covering my burning cheek with my hoodie. "I vexed her " I growled as he dragged off my hoodie and shook his head at me. As usual everybody would see me as the bad person when I was not even at fault. I've been feeling the urge to punch Bade in the face since I heard his discussion with his roommates but instead im here with a burning cheek

*Flashback

I was tugging on my black tees getting ready for practice with her and smiling because she'd be wearing hers and she'd blush. "Her name is Kaima ooo not koma. No come curse person  pikin- dont curse someone's child. " I heard Bade's voice and stopped to listen. "Whatever, she get fine yansh sha.- she has a nice ass" Malik said and Bade chuckled . I was so angry" I know na. She just dey form for me,but by the time I give am. She go no say I be active guy. - she is just playing hard to get but when I finally have sex with her. She would know im an active guy " Bade said and I felt like ripping off his tongue. " me I think say you like am oo"  Malik said surprised. "Abeg which year I start to dey like girl. Na to touch breast and shine convo abeg.- when did I start to like girls, just  to touch their breast and fuck them" Bade said and I just left because I didn't want anyone to expell me for attempted murder.
   After practice, the idiot came to see her and she left even when I told her not to go.

" Finally, hostel students, especially my ss3 students when you return from holidays, I dont want to see ripped or crazy or what ever you call it, I dont  want to see it as your day wear or else I'll be crazy too oo" Mr Salami ranted during the closing assembly but that wasnt my business, I had not stopped staring at her since. She had caught me few times, but she'd just turn to Anulika and keep gisting.. I wasn't even sure if I wanted to apologise or tell her what exactly happened but I just didn't want another slap.
     " guy your parents are here." Fiyin said later that afternoon and I left to the school hall where I saw my dad and step mom were waiting for me. " Jidenna " my dad said and roughen my hair while I smiled." How are you. You didnt even call last week. " my step mom said and hugged me with her huge tummy.." Im not a kid" I smiled hugging her back and Fiyinn snickered behind me. Unlike most stepchildren, I loved my stepmom." You are always wearing this your cardigan." She said and nearly jumped when she pulled it and saw my cheek." What happened to you" she screamed and I rolled my eyes while my dad inspected my face. " you guys calm down, I just.. hit a tree." I said looking at Fiyin not to mess up."  No Jidenna try again.you can do better " my Dad said and I sighed as my stepmom kept fussing and Fiyin tried to hide his laughter. " mom and dad im fine ,beside I can take care of myself ,lets go home." I said and turned to see the owner of  the palm on my face not so  far from us jumping excitedly on her dad to hug him. "Ok let's go. Fiyin take care..I just want to know the kind of tree with five fingers" my mom frowned as dad held her and I heard Fiyin whisper " a dark and cute tree."
