    " here, buy something from the vending machine. I call you when he wakes up" mum said kissing my head and left me in the reception. She wasn't so surprised to see me, knowing the kind of child I was. She was looking so tired and worried and I felt bad for her. I got a famous amos from the vending machine and sat down. I was almost dosing when I saw an all too familiar face running up to me. "Jidenna what are you doing here" I asked very surprised. "I came to apologise and tell you everything. Im sorry for yelling, I didn't mean to hurt you" he said in between trying to catch his breath. "Ok but you didn't have to come. You could have sent a text or something" I smiled even though I was glad to have someone with me especially him.  "Im sorry about your dad.  Um how is he" He asked shyly and I nodded with a little smile. "Kaima,  I like you a lot" he said and I almost choked on my cookies, was I dreaming or what. My heart was beating so fast. That was the first time Jidenna Arinze-Collins has ever mentioned my name and it was heavenly plus he said he likes me. I wasn't dreaming, I guess."you have a very wierd way of showing it" I laughed dryly not knowing what to say. "I know, I've been a world class dick but I really do like you a lot" He said and  I giggled a little. He said it again. "Then why did you act so mean to me even today" I asked and he sighed."I did like you the  minute, I saw you and I was an asshole for trying to force my self to dislike you" he said shyly looking away. "Why, what did I do.  You acted like you hated me the minute you saw me" I whispered and he sighed guiltily. "I want to tell you a secret that only Fiyin know. My baby sisters mum isnt my mum. She my stepmom" Jidenna said and my eyes widened. "My mum met my dad in her first year of the university in Canada while dad was in his last year. They fell madly in love and mum got pregnant for me. She was just seventeen and she wasn't exactly from a rich home and so grandma collins saw her as a gold digger. Dad loved her so much so he brought her home. She had me and couldn't go back to school but dad insisted and promised to take care of us forever and he did but when he went to work, grandma would make sure to let mum know that she wasn't good enough for her only son and last born. I remember sometimes she'd just cry and when dad would ask she'll say she was fine, I fucking loved her and she loved me and dad buh it was enough" Jidenna continued the sorry and I just stared at him feeling sorry. On my seventh birthday, grandma slapped her for some reason and she picked her purse ,dad's car keys and me and left. She was just learning how to drive but she didn't care. Soon dad and grandma's guard were trying to get after. Dad after the woman he loved and grandma's guards after me. In the panic, we had an accident,  when I woke up in the hospital,  mum was gone,  she ran away and left me. Dad didn't even chase after her this time. Though I was just seven, I was so angry  at  everyone. Dad  turned to an alcoholic mess after they couldn't find her anywhere. I  lived with my aunt and never saw her again till she called me today,  thats why I was so furious. Dad finally fell in love  Ngozi,  my stepmom when we moved back to Nigeria . "Jidenna finished and I just stared, who knew he had such a sad childhood. "So sorry,  you had to go through that" I whispered and he stared into my eyes close to tears. "The reason, I wanted to hate you was because you remind me so much of her. You look a lot like her and her name was Chukwakaima Khourtney Obasi. I know that's not good enough a reason to hate you and im damn sorry fo-" he was sauing and I cut him of with a kiss, not  caring.
