"I cant believe JAMB is starting next week like seriously" Anulika squeaked as she was waiting for me to finish dressing up to leave the hostel the next morning and I sighed, "me too, ill soon have exam fever now" I murmured picking up my bag. "Calm down. Kezz told me that you just need to study your past questions and you'll be fine seriously. " Anulika said "Thank God, we are sha not doing maths in JAMB, thats the only joy I have" I laughed and Anulika shook her head at me.
"Hey, Kaima ive been...." Jidenna said coming towards the table and I don't know what made me squeal and jump on him which had him laughing and everyone awning and murmuring. Effects of PDA in the dining room. "Did you like them, I couldn't really think of what to get you." He grinned boyishly and I giggled. "Of course , I loved them, that was too much.." I said and pecked him followed by giving him a hot knock. "Ouch" he complained raising a brow af me. "Thats for lying to me" I said and pecked him again when he pouted. "I wanted you to be surprised and you were judging by the video, but I expect you to cry. You looked like you just won a beauty pageant" He laughed and my eyes grew wide like saucers, "You got a video" I frowned but he ignored me and held my hand to the table just as the food matron was coming in.
"Oh my Goodness, this book is fucking boring ahhh" Fiyin grumbled as he spun his jamb copy of sweet sixteen and I laughed with Jidenna while Anulika shook her head at him. We were all sitting on the field studying together. It was still school hours but we didnt have class just group discussion and studying for the JAMB exams and they allowed us anywhere including the hostels, as long as we were reading, and everyone would obviously read especially after the 'african parent' sermon, mr Salami gave us during assembly. "Fiyin, you've not even gone past the first eight chapters and you're complaining." Anulika laughed while her boyfriend grumbled flinging the book somewhere and lying down with his head on her lap. "When mr Salami catch you like dat ehn, you'll know" I laughed while Fiyin snorted, "she's my babe, not his own, so he should gbe body jare" Fiyin said and Anulika blushed madly which had me feeling uncomfortable especially after this morning that I heard some bad belles gossiping that Jidenna got me all those gifts and im not his girlfriend. " hey, are you ok" Jidenna suddenly asked touching my shoulder and Anulika and Fiyin looked at me. "Yh I am, im just tired and hungry" I murmured half saying the truth. "Its that book, I know oo. It will suck out all your energy. "Fiyin chided and I had to laugh with them. "Some of us dont have scholarship waiting for us oo." Anulika rolled her eyes, smiling. "I give mine to you babe or forget it sef" Fiyin winked inching closer for a kiss. "Hmm, so that when we are old and poor, we'll sit together on the walkway, holding hands as we beg for money. Sounds romantic abi, nonsense. Better go to school" Anulika said and we burst out laughing while Fiyin held his chest and laughed. "Hmm, 1-0 my savage queen" Fiyin said and Anulika smiled proudly. "Ok ,you guys lets be serious now" Jidenna said still laughing and Fiyin quickly stole a kiss making Anulika glare at him and he grinned like a little boy caught with his hand in a pot of soup.

"Hey, I thought Nonso is taking night classes today" I asked as I sat on my seat in the assembly hall we usually used as I saw Jidenna setting up the projector. "Nonso is not feeling fine" Anulika shrugged and I raised my brow. Someone that I saw grabbing Lota's ass while they were kissing when I walked in on them in the hostel during dinner. Dont ask what he was doing there. "Jidenna said he's just going to be asking questions from the past questions. Hope youve read sha" Fiyin said taking his seat beside Anulika.
"I told you he wont call me" I boasted while I started to gather my books, about five minutes to the end of night class and tuned out. "Kaima, pls stand up to answer the next question. " Jidenna suddenly said and my head shot up in horror while Fiyin roared in laughter, mocking me while Anulika held her mouth trying to hold her own giggles. I stood up groggy glaring at Jidenna who winked at me instead. "I just pray its not redox equation or ill waste time till the class is over" I murmured to myself as Jidenna picked the remote to the projector and clicked the next question. The next question that had my jaw dropping and a pin drop silence in the hall as everybody waited for my answer. In bold words , 'Will you be my girlfriend' stood on the projector. "Kaima." Anulika whispered elbowing and I realised everyone was waiting for me to answer, while Jidenna's bold countenance had reduced to just nervous. " hmm, im not sure. I think the answer is either yes or no." I said pretending to think and Anulika pinched me as Jidenna was frowning worriedly now and I giggled a little. "I pick yes joo" I grinned and Jidenna gave breath of relief while everyone clapped and Fiyin and Anulika grinned. But my head was bursting, I was now Jidenna's girlfriend.
