Chapter 60

            Already one week, after Fiyin went home and mehn was school dead. Next week Friday  was when exam was starting with Chemistry practical as the first paper. We all missed Fiyin like crazy especially  Anulika, we tried calling him but his phone was always switched off.  Although Mr Jimi said his sister called and said he's  still on admission in the hospital, he didn't even get to speak with one of his favourite student. " Hey , do you think Fiyin is getting  better. I mean everything  is just odd, his sister didn't even let Mr Jimi to talk to him. " Anulika said quietly as we walked to assembly on Monday morning and I pitied her so much, she was a lot quieter  since he went home. On Sunday ,after service, She met the parish pastor for prayers which was very shocking of her. "Fiyin is going to be fine, Anu. Be optimistic pls" I sighed squeezing  her hand and she smiled tightly.  "Ssh students wait behind after assembly." Head girl said while reading the announcement  and for a weird reason my heart pounded. Hope nothing  had happened to Fiyin. I remember when our setmate from white house, died in a plane crash after the Christmas holiday, they announced to all of us after assembly after which we had a minute silence. That day was a black day for laurels students. Why am I even thinking of death, Fiyin can't die. "Good morning Laurel students," Mrs Alexa, our assistant headteacher who was also a white lady greeted  as we all waited after the assembly. "Good morning Mrs Alexa "we greeted back and she nodded. "Ok em, you all know your exams start this Friday.  I hope you all are ready for it" she asked and we chorused the affirmative, "ok, but I heard some of you are getting  exam fever. One person is home now righ . You guys need to calm down ok. WAEC isnt that tough, just read and study your past questions" she said and murmuring filled the hall. "Anyway we called this meeting to brief you on some things during this exam period" she said and I literally  breathed out in relief. Nothing to do with Fiyin, " number 1. As we start on Friday till we finish , ss3 students are cancelled  out of social night.  2. We can't seize your fones but we urge for your sake to limit the chatting and browsing,  read your books. You are gonna have a video viewing on rules and regulations  of WAEC so you know what not to do during the exam. Lastly we have carefully grouped everybody into a group of four as study buddies" she said which caused louder murmuring. "KEEP QUIET " Mr Salami yelled gaining a quieter audience "thank you Mr Salami, as I was saying.  The groups will be pasted on the notice board outside your blocks. The video will play now" Mrs Alek said  and the projector started playing.
     "Hey , have you seen your group members " Jidenna asked taking a seat beside Anulika and I in the biology lab , "no they were too many, I'll check after class, what bout you." I asked him and he nodded. "Ok nice, who ,"  I asked while Anulika busied herself drawing her titration tables. "Yh... um Anulika and Daniel Odunayo.." he said turning to his books while Anulika shrugged. "But Mrs Alexa said four." I chuckled, Anulika got to be with her friend. " um.. yh its Esosa" he said looking back at his books while Anulika looked disgusted. "Esosa, of course. How convenient " I said sacarstically while rolling my eyes. "Um.. what do you mean" Jidenna asked turning to stare at me but I ignored him just as biology teacher entered. "What's  up partner" Joshua playfully punched my shoulder as I was getting my books from my locker and I rolled  my eyes at him.  "Ahnahn, are you vexing for me about that shoe stuff." Joshua asked touching my cheek which I slapped his hand away. "No I'm not" I said wondering  why I was in a sour mood. "I'm sorry nah. We can't be best of study buddies if you are keeping malice " Joshua  said and I furrowed my eyebrows at him. "Wait who else is in our group" I asked and he smirked. "Nonso and Angela Akinifesi" Joshua grinned at me and I nodded " Thats nice" I smiled , "soo you're not angry again abi" he asked holding my hand just as Jidenna started walking in our direction. " I told you I wasn't angry. I'll see you after break" I said and slammed  my locker,"spoil it ooooo" one of the teachers shouted and continued on her way. "Kaima, I've been calling you. What gives" Jidenna said catching up with me and I folded my arms. "Ok, I'm answering  what?" I said looking at him. "What is going on, why are you acting like this, is it because of Esosa" Jidenna asked. "What makes you think it's because of her" I said quietly, and he facepalmed himself,  "of course it is, you're acting like this is all my fault, like I put her in our group  and its not fair . " he said . "I'm ok. Jidenna , just worried a little " i said and he smiled. "Dont worry you know Anulika wont allow her to do anything. Is Anulika ok by the way. " Jidenna asked and I nodded. "She's fine,  she's just missing him. She's so quiet, its very weird. " I said.
            "Settle down on your seats, your papers will start in thirty minutes" Mr Jimi shouted as we sat clad in our labcoats in the chemistry lab on Friday morning. Our WAEC  invigilator was a middle aged woman who had been grinning  since morning and that got most of mates creeped out. She looked like the eagle eye type that wouldn't let anything pass her by. "Hope this one will not be looking into booklets as we are writing oo" i whispered to Anulika who was my partner and she giggled.
         "Good morning sir" a cheery voice said as Mr Jimi was already sharing exam booklets.  "FIYIN!!!!"Anulika screamed already out of her seat at a wide smiling face of Fiyin. "Hey baby"  he whispered to her hugging her back despite the peering eyes of Mr Jimi and everybody in the class. Thank God, the invigilator had gone out to use the toilet. "Ok i know you've missed you selves, wait till after class, exam has started." Mr Jimi said before they finally let go of each other , "oh baby" he said winking at me as he walked up to Jidenna to sit beside him. "How things na" he punched Jidenna on the shoulder to which Jidenna  just laughed. "Who is in my group" Fiyin whispered as the invigilator walked back in after Jidenna  had briefed  him on what's been going on, "Theodora, Pelumi Adams and that Oshinowo boy, TY abi thigh abi whatever his name is" Jidenna  whispered back as they wrote names on their booklets. "Hmmhm thigh ko, knee ni" Fiyin said a little loud that the invigilator stared at him and we laughed.

Fiyin is back babies😉
His village people didn't succeed😅
