Kaima's pov
     'If you keep blushing like that,your face will look like ketchup,' I said sitting on Anulika's bed as she kept her bangs gifts in her travelling box. Sure enough the bangs were from Fiyin and Joshua. Fiyin gave her a jewellery set, a pair of sandals, makeup set and a cute sundress while Joshua gave her a bottle of wine,a rose,an off shoulder top with a card. That where the screaming and awwns broke out. It read;

      Anulika, my love for you is hotter than sokoto
Words can't describe how I feel when you smile at me. I love everything about you from you eyes to your smiles and allover.
Roses are red,violet are blue but all that matters is my love for you . Be my girlfriend.
   
   It was so romantic. 'Fiyin has too much money. See all what he bought for me,and I'm just his friend. I can just imagine what he would have bought for Jidenna if he was a girl' Anulika said. 'When is Jidenna's birthday' I asked out of curiosity. 'June twelfth, why are you frowning.' Anulika asked.' Oh it's a headache from noise' I said and smiled as I handed her my own gift. It was a heart shaped best friend necklace and a short dress.' Oh my God. This is the best gift. Thank you Kaima I love it' she screeched excitedly and hugged me and put it around her neck.' Where's yours' she asked and put it round my neck when I showed her and we both laughed.' So are you going to say yes to Joshua' I asked. 'Yes before ko.' She said blushing.' How about Fiyin' I asked curiously, 'yeah I still have feelings for Fiyin buh I cant keep brooding over him when he obviously not interested.  So maybe Joshua will help me forget him. Oya lets go sleep' Anulika said and I nodded. Dont get me wrong. Joshua is my friend but I felt she'd be better with Fiyin. Oh well, what do I know about romance sef.
  'Fiyin, thank you so much I love the gifts and the dress fits perfectly.' Anulika literally jumped on Fiyin after assembly the next day and he smiling broadly.' Anulika, better sir down before classes will start.' Jidenna said with a smile at Fiyin. Why does he have to be so handsome. It's not fair now. He caught me staring at him and amazingly, he smiled at me.' Okay bring out your test notes.' Mr Bola said in a singsong tone as he entered the class not even interested in our greeting. Ive never met a more excited teacher to teach before.
    'Hey' a cool voice woke me up from sleep even though the person wasn't talking to me. It was a free period before break and I couldnt be more happy than to nap after having a double period of economics then physics before agric then now. The person that set that timetable needs serious flogging, ' hey,are you still sleeping' Joshua said tapping Anulika who had followed my footsteps and slept too.' Oh hi.' Anulika said blushing after rubbing her eyes and realising who was there.' Thank so much for the gifts.' She said playing with the end of her plaited hair. Anulika nawa for you sha oo. 'Yeah ehm what about the card um did you like it.' Joshua said and I swear I saw Fiyin roll his eyes then continued on his phone. Was he jealous.'so what do you say.' Joshua asked and the whole class seemed to be staring even me. I looked at Fiyin behind me and I could tell he was listening too.' Yes I'll be your girlfriend.' Anulika said with a smile and I heard Fiyin's almost inaudible hiss and he stood and left the class and Jidenna followed him. Besties righ.' Thank you Anulika' he said and pecked her.' Oh Kaima sorry I didn't say hello when I came in,I was very nervous. I honestly thought your friend will say no.' Joshua said and I shook his hand.' But you know you have to pay brideprice abi.' I said trying to be happy for them and Joshua laughed.' Who am I playing to.' Joshua said already  holding hands with Anulika.' Me of course, am I not the bestie. See this one oo' I joked and truly Joshua pulled out three thousand and gave me. Me that my mum give me five thousand for a three weeks, one boy is giving three thousand to just his friend,how much will he now spend on his girlfriend! I seriously need a boyfriend. ' I will just accept it because you are my friend, because you know Anu is worth more than 3k' I said and they both laughed then Jidenna walked into the class and smiled at them.' Jidey,what happened to Fiyin,' Anulika asked innocently, 'Nothing.  His mum just annoyed him with a text. And um congrats you two' Jidenna smiled and they blushed.'abeg can you stop smiling like mumu.' I teased them.' I swear Kaima,  when one yeye boy will ask you out,I will not let you rest. Bet it' Anulika said and I heard Jidenna snort behind her. And he's back people. 'And who told you that I will na say yes.' I ignored him. 'Be deceiving yourself. Maybe Joshua and I will play matchmaker, and find one sensible boy in this set for you.' Anulika said and I saw Jidenna roll his eyes at her because he was either annoyed that she called all the set boys senseless or cause she wants to get me a boyfriend. Be dreaming Kaima, as if he cares.' So I am senseless abi nice' Joshua said and Anulika laughed trying to defend herself and I used that opportunity to leave and look for Fiyin, it was now time for break. 'Fiyin where are you.' I texted him as students started filling the halls and everywhere was noisy. 'At the backhouse' he texted back. What is that. 'Em Anulika, where's the back house.' I  asked meeting her on the way out of the class and she looked at me funny. 'Kaima you know it's break time' Anulika said and I nodded then she directed me there. The backhouse was a small hall that was dusty and scattered. 'Fiyin, what type of place is this one now.' I said coming in.' Hey' he murmured seating on one of the lockers because there were no chairs.' Fiyin, are you okay.' I asked and he sighed.' I like Anulika. Not as a friend,more than that.' Fiyin  said not looking at me. As if I knew. 'Then why didn't you tell her.' I asked. 'I don't know. Since she broke up with me, she's totally friendzoned me. I was okay when she was with Tobe because I knew she didnt like him. God knows what took her so long to break up with him. But now she's with a guy she likes. I dont stand a chance. There's no point.' Fiyin said. It was really weird seeing Fiyin like this.' You know you still stand a chance,I mean Anu might just still have feelings for you. You were her first boyfriend right.' I said and Fiyin laughed.' Yeah right, She doesn't like me. If she did, she won't say yes to Joshua.' Fiyin said. I honestly don't know how to tell Fiyin, Anulika likes him too cause I'm more confused than she is.' Kaima forget, dont worry about me. Ive been taking it since JS3,let's talk about you and Jidenna. So I like your bestie and you like mine,luckily for you,he's not taken.' Fiyin said winking at me laughing.' This discussion is over let's go and eat.' I pulled him and started going to the dining room. 'Forget you guys fit mad.' Fiyin said and started singing black and yellow and laughing while I blushed,' I know I shouldn't have told you. Ive not even told Anu.' I said punching him and he grinned.
