I rushed in from behind as they passed, Uchiha taking the front. I hit the rear guard, puffing out my cheeks as I readied an attack. "Fire Dragon Roar!"
Putting burns on their bodies. The toppled over, trying to minimize the exposure to the heat. I saw Uchiha doing the same thing as I. I stormed into the caravan, inside was four females. The cargo was indeed here, all I need to do is light it up. "Ice dragon: Ice blanket!"
The women became over taken by the ice, I switched my eyes back to red. "Fire Dragon Roar!"
The caravan went up like a wildfire. I made my way out, avoiding the flames as I went. I saw Uchiha had done his job as well. I jumped next to him as he finished off the guy he was dealing with.
"Was this the right one?" He asked, I nodded and took off my burnt cloak. "Seems another one is down. Too bad, I really liked this one too."
"Are you talking about your cape?" The way he said it made it seem so childish, no it was not a cape. "One it's not a cape, it's a cloak. Two yes this was the right caravan."
"How do you even like it, it's just a black piece of clothing." I shot him a glare, his carefree, yet dark was something I liked about him. This whole romantic thing is driving me nuts. "Yes, that was given to me from a friend, she designed it for me. It had a high density, making it practically invincible to swords. I guess Erza never thought about fire resistance, wonder why she didn't we had the Pyro on our team."
"You ramble too much." He hit the back of my head, to which I punched his arm in return. "You're too shady."
We went on for what seemed like hours before reaching our destination. Which was back at the hideout, even though I don't think it was that well hidden.
I waved him off as I made my way to my so called room. I opened the door, plopping myself onto the bed. By the time we reached the hideout it was dark, this was how life went on for a couple weeks. Until one day stood far above the rest.
It started off as any normal day would, waking up. Getting ready for a mission. I had started to gain some respect around here, I was used for mostly killing, and the occasional healing of an experiment.
That room scared me the most. It looked like something out of a nightmare. Bodies in huge tanks filled with liquid I had never seen. If I were to guess it would be a substance able to monitor the human vitals, the masks they were made it clear that the substance was not breathable.
To put it simply I avoided the room as much as possible. What they do here is cruel, and definitely not my style. I have killed countless, but all for a reason. Continuing on I ate breakfast which was normally some fruit. At this particular base their wasn't very many people. Mainly me, Uchiha, Snake, And Kabuto. Sometimes gaining a couple spies who would report then carry on with their lives.
I was sitting in my room, reading a pile of books I had, let's say permanently borrowed from a library. I sensed a signature, however I had little time to figure out who it was as a loud boom filled the base.
It was Uchiha's training time, maybe it was him. No, I felt a signature, maybe more than one. I jumped from my bed. Throwing my new cloak, and my purple and black scythe on my back.
I slammed open my door, taking in the scents. I smelt ramen, wood, and ink. What were they doing here. My feet moved without thinking, heading to where I heard commotion.
In the ceiling was a decent sized hole. I slid in, taking a defensive position next to Uchiha. Where was Snake and Kabuto?
"Hailey!" I looked up, my emotions start going everywhere. Did I make the right decision staying here? Should I have told Naruto? Only Yamato knows what is really even going on.
I took a deep breath, I would need to report in to Tsunade soon too. I stood frozen in my spot. Taking calming breaths so I don't freak out.
"So Naruto, how do you expect to become Hokage if you couldn't even save two friends." I snapped my head in their direction. While I was dazed out Naruto had went after Uchiha. Ending with Uchiha holding his sword against Naruto's neck. I hated every second of this.
They should be friends and not enemies. This childish rivalry and power hungry boys don't know how or when to stop.
Sai seemed to get on edge as he lunged forwards, I sprung into action. Detaching my scythe from my back and rounding it around Sai's neck. Being careful not to actually cut him. I may not like him, but I have no reason to kill him.
I looked at Yamato who lunged towards me. I kept my grip on my scythe. Using my opposite leg I wrapped my leg around his torso, then slamming him into the ground. I lowered my body so I was near his ear. "I'm sorry. Naruto doesn't know right?"
He shook his head, then let out a fake yelp of pain. "Good let's keep it that way."
"Hailey! Sasuke!" I shot my head towards the snake. Why was he showing up only now, was he watching the entire time. "They're not worth our time."
I released my grip on Yamato and Sai. I did pick up on something Sai said as I walked away. "Watch what you do Yuki. Naruto still thinks your the good guy here."
I kept as straight of a face as possible as I walked away. I heard something being punched followed by a few words. "Damn it!"
I felt guilt rise in my chest, did I do the right thing? Or have I screwed up everything?
