Manik had rested his body on his chair with eyes closed, Mr Malhotra came to knew that Manik have cancelled all his work for the entire day. So he just came to check him and when he silently entered his cabin he saw him resting as if he is feeling sick.
He came close to him and caressed his head and hair softly, pouring out all his fatherly love in that one min, which made Manik to look at the person. Seeing his father he sat straight but the disturbance in his behaviour was easily seen by Mr Malhotra.
Ma-dad!
Mr m-Manik.......kuch baat hai kya.....tune teri saari meetings cancel kr di.
Manik looked away and said.
Ma-nhi kuch bhi nhi dad......
His ways of hiding his eyes from him and unintentionally his fingers moving in stress made Mr Malhotra understand that something was wrong. Out of nowhere he asked.
Mr m-Nandini se jagda hova kya?
Hearing Nandini's name his head snapped towards him and after a moment he said looking at him.
Ma-nhi dad......bas thoda thak gaya ho.
With this he looked away. Mr Malhotra placed his fatherly hand on his head and said with a warm smile on his face.
Mr m-something is wrong.....
Manik looked at him and opened his mouth to say something but Mr Malhotra stopped him in btwn and said.
Mr m-mujhe batane ki zarurat nhi hai agar tumhe aise lagta hai toh but remember son you can come to me anytime you wish to.....okay.
With this he gave him another warm smile to which Manik replied with a faint small smile with no sparks in his eyes. Mr Malhotra patted his shoulder and left his cabin.
The day passed soon and Manik did nothing except from drowning in the guilt while Nandini was extremely clueless about this. When Mr Malhotra reached home he kneely observed Nandini's behaviour to find it perfectly normal.
Which was easy for him to conclude that something was wrong with Manik and Nandini is not aware of it. While here Manik had already messaged fab5 abt the cancelled jam session which is why they didn't come to office.
Manik dropped a message to Nandini, his first message of the day stating to eat dinner as he will be late as he has some meeting but he was at office only alone with the gate keeper. On receiving his message Nandini came to Mr Malhotra and said.
Nan-dad Manik ka message aaya hai k woh meeting mei hai.......toh hum dinner kr lete hai.
Mr Malhotra hhmmed and Nandini went to lay the dinner. She was upset after receiving his message as it's been whole day he have not talked to her. Nandini filled Mr Malhotra's plate and then sat on Manik's chair. The dinner was silent until Nandini spoke.
Nan-dad......aaj office mei bahut kaam tha kya.......Manik ne aaj baat bhi nhi ki mujse.
Mr m-Haan beta.......aaj Manik ko bahut kaam tha.
Mr Malhotra didn't wanted to invade the couples privacy which is why he lied. It was late night and Nandini was still waiting for Manik. The whole was dark as nobody was there at home except Mr Malhotra who was sleeping.
