"Love is not supposed to be difficult."
Tiffany thought that when theyre finally in Japan, she'll get her chance to be with Taeyeon, to be able to have a talk with her, to know if Taeyeon is indeed serious about the girl, but to her luck Taeyeon never gave that chance. Their kid leader is either busy with the concert preparations or she's on the phone with her girlfriend, as usual. It annoys Tiff to no end, knowing that Taeyeon is obviously trying to avoid being alone with her as if she's up to no good. Well, its somehow true though. Tiff only wants to talk to Taeyeon about her relationship with Jan, she wants to know if its for the long run or her beloved bestfriend is only in it for the sake of 'being in a relationship' just like everyone is.
It was their last night in Japan after their two-day concert when someone tip her off that Taeyeon isnt going anywhere whilst everyone will be having a tour around Tokyo. She was about to go with Jessica out when Yuri told that important information. Although she wasnt sure if Yuri did indeed wants for them to have their talk or she just wants to be alone with Jessica, she still head back to their room floor nonetheless.
"Oh hey Tiff." Taeyeon greeted her casually, something she had been receiving since Jan came into Taeyeon's life and she hated it, being treated just the same as everyone.
"I thought youre not going out?" She asked, hoping that she didnt sound like she knows that girl would be staying in. "Cause Yuri said.." She trailed off. She didnt know why she suddenly needed to elaborate things when Taeyeon is obviously isnt even listening to her and was busy checking her phone out.
"Ohh yeah.. I wasnt, but Jan's plane just landed and I want to pick her up at the airport." Taeyeon said while she was struggling to close the door and once she was sure she had it locked, she took her leave only to be stopped by Tiffany by her arms.
"Wait, Jan's here? Why?"
"Should there be reasons for her not to be here?" Taeyeon asked back. "Im here and I think its only right for her to be with me here."
Tiffany's grip loosened till she let go. "Ohh." Was all she could mutter.
"Ahh.. Do you, by any chance, need something from me?" Taeyeon asked and waited for Tiffany to answer while the latter contemplated what to say. She took one deep breath and said, "Yeah, I need you."
"What did you say?" Taeyeon asked, eyes blinking a couple of times, not sure if she heard it right.
When Tiffany was about to answer, the elevator opened and revealed their Manager Unnie. "Hey Tae.. The car's at the lobby now. Are you sure you dont want me to accompany you, Oh hey there Tiff, I thought you went out with the girls."
"I was about to ask Taeyeon to go out with me, but she's got other plans so.."Tiffany trailed of as she stared at Taeyeon with rather pleading eyes.
"Ahh yes.. Yes.. She's going to pick her girlfriend up. She's one lucky girl, isnt she? Having Taeyeon as her girlfriend, I mean." Tiffany only nodded. Manager Unnie handed the keys to Taeyeon and patted her.
"Now go, you dont want to keep your girl waiting right?" Taeyeon shook her head, although still dazed, another patted from her manager finally brought her to her senses. "Its not everyday that you get the easiest way with love. Now off you go Romeo, have fun."
I wish I could say the same. Was what Taeyeon wanted to say but chose not to. She doesnt want anyone to even think that her relationship with Jan was one of those rebound just because she cannot have that person she had ever wanted from the start.
"Love's always been easy. People just chose to have it the hard way." Tiffany said as she stared at the close elevator door Taeyeon had gone to.
"Careful, you wouldnt want me getting used to this Tae." Jan said once she was inside the car, placing a long kiss to Taeyeon's lips.
"Its okay, you'd do this too when I come to Thailand next time." Taeyeon started the engine and took a different direction of their hotel. "You know, you shouldve just booked at our hotel. Atleast that way, I could snuck into yours in the middle of the night." Jan only laughed. "Thats actually what Im trying to avoid Tae. I dont want to risk anything with you."
"Were you always this considerate?"
"No, Im just cautious. I just dont want to do something that will cost me of losing you. I dont want that to happen."
"Jan, what if.."Taeyeon's voice was serious and somehow Jan already knew what's going to be her question but she waited, she waited till Taeyeon figure out how she'll break it to her gently. "What if I leave you for someone else, what would you do?"
"Well, they said that finding love isnt easy, they were wrong." Jan was looking out at the window as she said that but then she looked at Taeyeon with her warmest smile drawn in her lips, one that Taeyeon though can never get used to, but with two days apart, Taeyeon found herself missing Jan's genuine and loving smile which is entirely different from someone she knows. Her thoughts was about to drift away again, something she has been doing since she left her hotel, but luckily Jan pulled her back to her senses "I found you and I was at the right place at the right time for you as well. I do believe that keeping and maintaining a relationship is the hardest. Its not everyday that you get the easiest way with love, so you need to make sure that everyday spent with that person is perfect. That your everyday with me is perfect, so you wont leave me for anyone else."
"You didnt really answer the question Jan." The girl only laughed. "If I answer that question would you answer if I ask you something too?" Taeyeon nodded her head. "Yeah, sure what's the question?"
"If that time comes, that you found someone who loves you better than I do and you love her more than you feel about me, will you really leave me for her?"
"Okay, Ahmm thats just errr..." Taeyeon stumbled on her own words.
Jan burst out laughing. "You should see how terrified you are in the mirror. Its hilariously cute." Taeyeon pouted when her girlfriend pinched her cheek.
"But seriously Tae, love is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Some people just prefer to have it the hard way."
"You know, for a 19 year old kid, you sound like 40."
"You know, for a 26 year old adult, you sometimes act like your 10."
They end up laughing till their stomachs hurt.
Taeyeon might not be really sure of what's going to happen between her and Jan but she's really willing to try to make this work eventhough she knew that its a hard shot. She is after all one of those people who chose to have love the hard way.
