"Tiff? Tiffany? Fany-yah.. Mrs.Horvejkul.." Sunny's voice echoed inside the living room, making everyone frowned while covering their ears.
"Yah, Sunny. Do you really need to shout?" Sooyoung bellowed at their smallest member who was only an inch away from her.
Hearing her boyfriend's last name, instead of looking at Sunny, Tiffany found herself staring back at Taeyeon. She suddenly felt small and wanted for Taeyeon to look away but the latter held her gaze on her. It wasnt intense, but Tiffany felt like Taeyeon's eyes were draining the life out of her.
"Miyoung. God, Ive called you with all your names already."
"Sorry.. I was just.." Tiffany started, thankful that Yoona patted her shoulder, she was able to get away from Taeyeon's stare.
"Zoning out? Wow, thats a first." Jessica butted in. "The last time I check, it was my job to zone out."
"Ohh I guess youre just rubbing in on her Sica." Taeyeon said before turning her attention back to the television.
"Dont worry, that's still your throne Sica." Hyoyeon said, patting Jessica's head.
"Wasnt it today? Nichkhun's appearance on Running man I mean." Sunny said, reaching for the remote and had put it on the channel to watch the said program.
"Just right on time."
"Khun look so good today Unnie." Seohyun complemented. Unknowingly to everyone, Jessica who was the closest to Taeyeon, reached out for her hand under the table and squeezed it. The latter smiled, gave a squeeze back and mouthed, "Its okay."
Tiffany suddenly felt uneasy. She was uncomfortable seeing her man in the show more so when the MC had asked about her.
MC: How is she? What is Tiffany doing right now?
Nichkhun: She's at home. Sleeping.
"Woah, how did he know that, did he called you?" Sooyoung sarcastically said.
"That's recorded Soo." Tiffany defended.
"Its live Tiff." Jessica corrected her.
Tiffany got annoyed. She and Nichkhun already talked about being careful about their relationship, to not be so public about it but obviously her boyfriend cant keep his mouth shut, although ofcourse it wasnt him who raised the topic about her, he was being asked and its only polite to answer but Tiffany doesnt like a bit of it, specially when he said something that wasnt even true. She wasnt sleeping. They havent talked since last night so how could he say something he's not even sure of.
She looked over Taeyeon and saw a blank expression on her face and she hated it more, seeing how empty Taeyeon is to her now since the whole KhunFany and JanTae happened. Taeyeon has suddenly became a stranger to her. She cant read her anymore. She cant feel her anymore.. She had lost her hold on Taeyeon completely.
The kid leader stood up and took the bowl of popcorn that was now empty, thanks to Sooyoung and Yoona's ability to eat two handfuls of it in one go. "I'll just go and refill this."
"I'll help you."Tiffany wanted to offer her help to have one alone time with Taeyeon but Jessica beat her to it.
It has been two weeks since Taeyeon came back from Japan, and all Taeyeon did was avoid her and it annoys Tiffany to no end, she even had cornered Taeyeon few days ago just to be able to talk to her but it was no use, someone was always there ruining her chance.
Tiffany sighed and Yuri offered her a weak smile and the former knew what its meant for, 'Its okay, you'll get your chance next time.'
"You cant avoid her forever Tae." Taeyeon pretended not to hear it and continued emptying the packet of newly-microwaved popcorn into the bowl.
"Tae.."
"Jess."
"Youre only hurting yourself." Taeyeon stopped what she was doing and stared at Jessica, as if the was reading what the girl's exact words on it. Youre only hurting yourself.
Is she? Is she really hurting herself by ignoring Tiffany?
She thought for a moment.. Does it really hurt?
"Im not." And that was true. For the past two weeks, it wasnt as hard as the first months she did, avoiding Tiffany has started to become her hobby and she was slowly getting used to it.
"Tae, stop lying to yourself."
"Lying." She muttered under her breath. "Im not lying to myself or to anyone Sica." She firmly said and again it was true, she isnt lying to anyone. Yeah sure, she isnt entirely happy but she's not sad either. So saying that she's okay wasnt lying.
"But youre pretending that youre okay with everything. That youre okay with all this."
"And thats true Sooyeon." For a moment there, Jessica felt a little alarmed hearing her Korean name which she knew Taeyeon means serious business.
"Look, Im trying to be the good bestfriend here, supporting Tiffany in her relationship."
"By what? By ignoring and avoiding her? Tae, that doesnt work that way."
"And what do you want me to do? What do you think I should do? Ive got a perfect girlfriend thousand of miles away from me, trusting me, loving me without asking anything in return and the least I could do is break her trust, her heart. I dont want to hurt her Jess.. Jan has been so good to me and I dont want to repay her by hurting her." Taeyeon admitted. It wasnt really her plan to totally ignore Tiffany but it just happened to be that way, she thought that it'll be best for her if she keeps her distance but she guessed she overdone it a bit too much seeing how it came to their other member's attention and also their managers. She had reasoned that she's always busy with the album revision and personal stuff, meaning Jan, to attend to so it had reduced her time with Tiffany but she knew thats not true. She knew Tiffany knew she was doing it on purpose, and if Tiffany knows the reason or not, she doesnt know.
"I just dont want to see your hurting anymore Tae.. Watching you in tears for years had already scarred my life." Taeyeon gave Jessica a shove on the shoulders. "But really Tae, youve been hurt for too long, Its time for you to be happy too."
"Im getting there Sica.. Im getting there.." Although Taeyeon isnt sure how long will it take her to be happy, but one thing she know she's sure of is that as long as Jan is there, loving her, she knew in time, she'll be happy too.
