"Finally."
"I still love you Tae. Im still in love with you."
It was clear as the stars in the sky and there's no way for Taeyeon not to hear it. She closed her eyes as she savored that very moment right after her heart start to function again.
"Taeyeon did you hear me? I said.."
Taeyeon heaved a sigh before answering, "I heard you perfectly fine Tiff."
"Then why didnt you say anything?" By this time,Tiffany was already kneeling infront of Taeyeon, her hands was on the latter's knees and she notice Taeyeon was trembling. "Remember what you said before?" Taeyeon nodded. Ofcourse, how can she forget something she had been wishing since the day they went on their separate ways?
"Tae,I know youve been single for years. You never dated anyone. Youve been busy with work and you barely have time for rest. I dont know what happened between you and Jan but I heard the news from Nichkhun's sister. You broke up a year after you took your job in Japan."
"Wow, you know all that?" Taeyeon was surprised to know that Tiffany knew a lot of things about her. "Are you my saesang fan now?" that garnered her a slap on her thigh. "Okay sorry, i was just joking." Taeyeon ran her hand through Tiffany's hair, brushing along those soft hairstrands. "It was a mutual decision. She was still young and Im.. well, young at heart. We're just like normal couples Tiff, we fight, we make up then we fight again, fights are inevitable since you know.. Im a bit of a chick magnet." Taeyeon laughed at that and continued, "I went to Japan and thats when things started drifting apart. I know she loves me but that wasnt really enough since I dont really love her as much as she loves me, then she met someone and I knew it was the end for us. Jan tried so hard to fight her feelings towards this guy because she doesnt want to lose me. I saw her efforts, I saw how she fend off her feeling but me being in Japan and her working and studying in Thailand, it became hard for us to fix our relationship. We talked about it and we tried fixing it but we failed then one day we broke up. I guess both of us were just waiting for the end cause we took the break up quite well and we remained friends after that."
Tiffany nodded as Taeyeon finished her story. "So yes, youre right. Ive been single for years. I have no time for relationships because I was too busy."
"So what are we going to do now?"
"Wait.... Why are you asking me that? Have you forgotten what I said before? That you can ask that if we're both.."
"Single." Tiffany finished her words for her. "Im single Tae.."
"Wait what? What happened to Nichkhun? You two were married right? You had a daughter with him and she's with him right now." Confusion was so evident in Taeyeon's face and Tiffany reached forward to ease her scrunched up brows.
"Thats weird that you dont know.. When it was all over the news."
"You know how I am Tiff, I hate news and I was probably busy burying myself in music sheets and notes and lyrics. I already forgotten my social site accounts." Taeyeon took Tiffany's hand and put it back on her lap but she didnt let go of it.
"Nichkhun's been dead for 4 years now Tae."
"What?"
"He got into a car accident. He was drunk." Tiffany paused and fiddled with Taeyeon's fingers. "I once told him that driving while he's drunk will be the cause of his death but he never believed me. Then one day it happened."
"Im sorry to hear that Tiff. "
Tiffany shoved Taeyeon's shoulder. "Admit it, youre not." Then they both chuckled. "Its been almost five years already anyways."
"How have you been after that?" Taeyeon queried. She'a bit guilty not to be able around Tiffany when that happened. She knew how sad Tiffany mightve been that time and she couldve been there to comfort her, Tiffany is still her bestfriend anyway.
"Well, it was very devastating and quite hard actually. It drained me to death. And with Taeny inside me, I thought I was going to lose her too but then suddenly I saw the news about you and you bring me back to life. You became my anchor with all the positivity thats coming from you. You helped me go through each day. I was sad for Taeny that she never met her father but I think it was a blessing in disguise. The chance for us to finally be together had become big and god knows how I tried to get your attention in all your concerts but as if fate was telling me that it wasnt the time yet, you never noticed me. All VVIP tickets were sold out even before I could ask for it online. There's so many fans around you that you never heard me calling out for you. I even flew around the world just to follow you, I even used my connections but it took me nowhere. Youre like that unreachable for me. Then I have to give up because Taeny is growing up and she needs her mom so I stopped chasing you around. And I told myself that if its time for us to be together, we will meet again. Im actually supposed to be in a flight to Paris earlier, the group Im handling has a concert there, but as if fate was bringing us together, my schedule had been changed all of a sudden then I got a call from Taeny's school and the next thing I knew you were there standing in front of my child."
"Wow.. Talk about destiny huh? But wait, who's Taeny calling papa earlier?"
"Leo. He's here just for the weekends."
And then there was silence and all they can here was the soft beating of their hearts. It was comforting and at the same time nerve wrecking as they both waited for one another to say something more.
It was Tiffany who broke the silence. "Do you still love me Tae?"
Taeyeon took Tiffany's hands and placed it on her cheeks. Then their lips met right after Taeyeon answered, "I never stopped loving you Tiff.. There's never a day that I didnt love you."
