As soon as I saw Lia's Mom, I bolted.

Fuck, still not great with that confrontation shit. Still too socially awkward.

The danger is real.

Must stay strong....and not mention this to Lia.

She'd flip shit, something I wasn't going to be okay with because then I wouldn't be able to go back to bed when we get back.

Okay, I wasn't thinking just about sleep then. If Lia flips out in front of everyone it's going to spoil Finn's recovery high that his family have got going on. But I will have to investigate.

Phil will love that. He'll put on his news glasses from the radio show and want to use his news reading voice.

As I disappeared back to Lia, I heard my name being called. I knew who it was, so internally I was freaking out because...I really didn't want to run away from a lady.

Never mind pushing her over.

Accidentally hitting her with whatever I could find in my pockets.

Besides my phone, which I wanted to remain intact, all I had was my wallet (which I guess I needed in the future) or a stuffed Susuwatari, which I genuinely have no idea why it was in my pocket.

Maybe Phil snuck it in there for fun. I don't know, but that wasn't going to do any damage. Throw a stuffed toy at her, Dan! That will throw her off talking to you.

"Hello, Daniel." Helen smirked, "What are you doing here?"

I looked away, avoiding eye contact. "Um, me and Lia visited Finn. How do you know them?"

Helen chuckled. "Oh, Daniel. If I told you that, that would be no fun? I suggest you keep this one to yourself. If you know what's best for you. I'm a powerful woman, so if I find out Lia knows I'm in contact with the Harries...you should treasure your last few days with her."

My mouth fell open. "Are...are you going to kill me?"

"No, you fucking idiot." Helen laughed. "You're never good enough for my daughter."

"Ugh, this again? For fucks sake, I'm going to marry her one day, don't you get it? We're going to have a family and spend the rest of our lives together- is that not what you should want for your daughter? I'm tired of the freaky future-mother-in-law thing you've got going on...its....it's really creeping me out." I exploded at her, waving my arms around randomly. I realized I was still holding the stuffed toy, so quickly shoved it back in my pocket.

"Um. I don't know what you want from me but Lia loves me...so...back off, bitch!" For some reason I had a strange overwhelming sense of cockiness mixed with confidence and then instantly regretted my actions. I spun around and paused for a second, before quickly speeding back to Lia, not wanting to look at a furious looking Helen.

I really fucked that up. But the closer she got to me, the more I began to panic and I was pretty sure she was about to attack me.

Lia huffed as she waited at the entrance of the hospital. "What took you so long?"

I shrugged. "Um. No reason. Nothing. At all."

Lia giggled. "You're such a dork." (A/N: New fanfic called Dork ;) check it out on my page?)

I tangled my fingers with hers and smirked. "You love it though, I hope."

"Sure, babe."

When we arrived back home, immediately I began walking back to bed, exhausted. Shutting my eyes for one moment, I woke up to the smell of something delicious.
