(Hannah And Shawn are in hospital and Hannah is in labour. Shawn and avia are in the room with her. Karen and Hannah's mum is with Nathan at home)
Another contraction came waving in. I held on to Shawn hands and squeezed digging my nails in. "You're 6cm dilated. You can push when you're at that time if you're ready."
"I'm not, lemme see how I feel when I'm 8." I said in relief that the pain went.
"Just breathe through the pain." A doctor called. If it was that fucking easy I would've done that a long time ago! I gave her a fake smile instead of snapping.

"You're 8cm, are you ready?" Shawn asked. I nodded not able to talk. Instantly a rush of doctors came and helped me get into position.
"I'm gonna count to three and do a really good push Hannah." The doctor encouraged me.
I pushed and pushed until I didn't have it in me. "I can't, I can't." I huffed restlessly.
"You can Hannah!" Avia said.
I nodded no as I swallowed my saliva in my mouth. Shawn hovered over me, I put my arms around his back. "Come on Hannah, I know you can do this." He said into my ear.
"Can we stay like this if I push again?" I asked looking up at him.
"Yeah." The doctor replied. "1... 2... 3..."
I pushed as I held onto shawn, he whispered in my ear "five more minutes of pain for a life time of happiness" hearing him say that gave me a burst of strength.
A cry echoed the room. "You did it Hannah!!" Avia proudly called. She raised my knuckles to her lips and gave them a peck.
"She's beautiful!" Shawn was in awh.
He cut her cord and got cleaned up before she got placed into my arms. Feeling her on my skin made me feel all these emotions. "When are you going to give her first kiss?" The midwife grinned.
I looked down and pecked her temples. "She's beautiful.." my eyes started welling up. A tear slipped out of my eye and fell down my face. I rubbed her head.

Shawn sat down on the chair next to me and watched me just bonding with her. "Do you wanna hold her?"
"I'm scared, I'm less gentle with Nathan, I think she's going to break in my arms." He worried.
"Come on, take off your shirt and hold your arms out." He did as he told. He took his arms, I gently put her in his arms, he slowly raised her to his chest and held her. I put a blanket over her so they didn't get too cold.
"I'm gonna go okay, I need to go see mum, she's on one of her crazy highs again." Avia rolled her eyes. Her mum always struggled with drugs and alcohol for as long as I've known her. It was really a shame because avia never got love and attention she needed/wanted. "Bye love you.."
"Love you too." I gave her a weak smile.
"I love you too baby.." she cooed giving the baby a soft squeeze of her cheeks. "Bye shawn." She giggled while giving him a soft hug.

"We need some sort of identification for baby. Do you have a full name yet?" The nurse asked.
A soft "Yeah" left my mouth. "Skylar Elizabeth Karen mendes." I smiled looking over at her then Shawn. The nurse wrote down the name and looked up at both of us. "Thank you."
