Renesmee

Swan was growing up before our eyes. Every day we learned something new about her. She had two sets of pearly whites now and loved to grunt and point at the things she wanted. She and Anthony were best friends. Now that she can roll over, the two would spend all day rolling across the living room floor to each other and smacking into each other. Like her first smile, her first laugh went to her brother.

I loved that they got along so well. Anthony is the sweetest and most doting big brother and it just made my heart soar. I always knew he'd be a great big brother. Jacob and I loved watching them play together. Sometimes, Anthony would be trying to teach her something like how to spell her name and she would hang onto his every word. It was too cute for words.

But not even Anthony could stop her wailing today. She woke up 6:30 sharp with her shrieks and just wouldn't stop. Nothing would console her, and trust me, we tried. I tried nursing her, skin-to-skin contact, I tried giving her to Jacob with his shirt off, and even Anthony even though he looked awfully sleepy and confused. She was crying for two hours now and Anthony had his little fingers in his ears in an attempt to mute her loud screams.

"Why is Swan loud?" he frowned.

"I'm sorry, sweetie. Daddy and I are trying to figure it out."

"Here's a flower, Swan, you like flowers," Jacob said almost desperately,

She looked at the flower before grabbing the flower and throwing it on the floor. She stretched her little body out in my arms and clawed at her clothes.

"Jake, I can't take it!" I rocked her in my arms, "Can you get my phone for me?"

"Are you gonna call Edward?" he asked as he grabbed my phone from the kitchen.

"Yes, he needs to read her mind. I don't know what she wants!" I unlocked my phone and rang up my dad's number. He answered on the second ring, "Dad, can you and Mom come over?"

"Is that Swan screaming?" he asked.

"Yes, we need help. She's been crying like this for two hours now," I sorta felt like crying myself at this point.

"We'll be there soon," he hung up.

"Grandpa is coming to make it all better, Swan." I wiped her tears away.

She looked up at me with her dark eyes and her little hands went up to her neck as she cried some more. Her neck? Oh my, God! Why didn't I think of this before?!

"Does your throat burn, Swan, are you thirsty?" I asked her.

She continued to hold her neck and wail. That had to be it, oh my poor baby. She must have been wanting blood since she was born... Why didn't I think of this sooner? Anthony never needed blood but she's different. It only makes sense.

"Jacob, I think she needs blood! Quick go find her something!" I said as I got up and grabbed some bottles out of the kitchen.

He quickly got down to his boxers and went outside to phase. Mom and Dad came in from the sliding door and Mom took Anthony out to the front yard.

"Figured it out, didn't you, " Dad said as he came to hold Swan's hand, "I think you're right."

"When she put her hands on her neck that's when I knew," I sighed out, "Her eyes got darker like Jacob's, I should've known..."

"How could you have known? Anthony never showed any interest in blood so you didn't expect Swan to either."

"You're right," I looked down at Swan, "Don't cry now, sweetie. Daddy is getting something to make it all better."
