“We did it!” I shouted hearing the outcome. I screamed as I jumped into Dom’s awaiting arms and he swung me around hugging me tight.

The past week has gone by quickly. The only thing I remember doing besides dancing and practicing is taking a History quiz I was so unprepared for. Yet I passed with a B-. Dom and I had been together every day and practiced and two days ago we finally merged our practices with the whole group.

Megan wasn’t as surprised as the other dancers, she said she knew something was up the minute we got together and she kept telling me that she was happy and telling me never to keep something from her again.

We had come to the stage today with nervous, excited, and fear, but we were in the top three, which meant we were onto the next round!

Unfortunately so were Piper and Logan. I had to admit their dance was okay but also a bit plain.

“Here you are.” Someone behind me said and I pulled away from Dom to see him accepting an envelope from one of the judges.

“Thank you.” I said and shook his hand and he just nodded and walked to his table with the other judges. “What is it?” I asked as he started opening it.

“It’s the next topic for the dance.” He said reading the top cover before opening it up and showing me.

Dirty Dancing.

I don’t think they ever had anything like this one. We had to take ideas and do the big number somehow.

“What is the time limit of the dance?” I asked moving so we were both reading the fine print.

“10 minutes.” He said and looked over at me. “Is that possible?” He asked and I just nodded, sort of. He raised an eyebrow at me and I was about to explain that I would have to see what I could come up with but I saw his dad and mom coming. Maddie wasn’t able to come, poor thing was scared she would give her chicken pox to someone.

“You did it!” His dad said and Dom turned with a huge smile on his face. “Invite everyone from the dance team to our place… I mean it Nicky, we are having a celebratory BBQ.” He said and looked over at me with a smile.

Dominic told me that he indeed started telling his father about me every morning and showed him a picture for the yearbook.

“And you Ms. Lucas were amazing. I don’t know how you taught him to move but you must be a miracle worker.” He teased and I just laughed and heard Dom groan.

“I was not that bad before.” He defended and this time Stacey spoke up but really she just started laughing. “Party at my place!” He shouted ignoring his parents and everyone around cheered and started walking off the stage to join their families.

As much as Dom’s parents made me feel comfortable and made me laugh I turned to find my mom letting Dom know as I walked away trailing my hand across his shoulders.
