Chapter TwentyFive-

        We raid the guns and ammo shop, putting as much as we can into our bags and moving along. Then we exit and start to wander off to the town.

        I see Crawford in the distance, The barricades still on fire by the collision of walkers, and the streets are full, We see parts of the horde starting to wander back onto the streets.

        "Shit.." Jane crosses her arms, "How are we suppost to get in, the barricades are on fire.." She scratches her buzzcut.

        "Well, we got out... we can most definently get back in." I give Jane a reassuring smile and she smiles back at me.

        We hop the barricades, dodging the flames and make it safely onto the street, "Remember.. everybody... shut the fuck up. There could be guards still here and I don't want anybody shooting me." The new girl with black hair says.

        "I didn't catch your name." I raise a brow at her.

        "Oh, I'm Amber."

        "Nice to meet you... despite... the circumstances." I kill a walker roaming the streets and motion the rest of the group towards me, "Me, Jane, and Lilly will take the school, that's where there's a infirmary with medical supplies.. Austin I want you to go with Yoshi and Sabrina to the armory, Regine, Sita, and Amber, get to the grocery store... we need water mostly.. but food is also very nessacery, and Jamie and the others, look for anything extra we might need... No garbage shit though... we don't have that much room." I command, Let's go.

        Lilly, Jane, and I trottle along the tar roads, making our way to the school and entering the double doors, killing a group of five walkers. "Lilly, It would also be good if you could get to the school's cafeteria, be safe..." I throw her an automatic pistol to add to her arsenal of a butcher knife, and a meat cleaver. "Jane and I will get to the infirmary, If you need us we'll be there... be careful though, you never know who could be lurking about here.."

        "On it.." Lilly goes on her way to the cafeteria, grunting and killing a walker. Jane and I walk to the infermary, "How's you and Austin?" She asks.

        "We're fine." I smile, "How's Jamie? Is she holding up?" I ask.

Jane bites her lip, "I don't know... she's starting to resemble behavior I never seen in her before... I think she's starting to finally realize that this is it... we're done for. The lurkers always win."

        "Yeah, but we all can pull through it together. We've established almost like.. a family.

        "Christa... Vernon, those medical supplies may be in the infirmary.. that's what we could use to help Omid.. I advise you guys find a way to get in there.." I hear a man say.

        "Shit.. we gotta hide." I whisper to Jane, we open the infirmary door and lock it, hiding under the hospital bed.

         "If we just shut the fuck up and stay here we'll be fine."

        30 minutes pass and the crew are still trying to get the door open, out of the corner of my eye through the window of the door I see a young teenage boy with dirty blonde hair, and a hillbilly with a mustache. They pound on the door and finally after struggling and picking at the lock they made it in without any damage to the door.

        "Christa! Vernon, We got it!" Teenager says.

        "Ben shut the fuck up you shitbird." The hillbilly reprimands.

        "Sorry.." Ben says, in a shocked manner.

        So called, "Christa" a african american woman, I can tell is slightly pregnant, and "Vernon" an old man, walk into the room. "Fuck... the cabinet's locked." Christa furrows her brows and locks the wooden door.

        "Well.. we don't got all day.. If we shoot the lock it's gonna attract the walkers." Vernon implies.

Christa angrily adds, "As long as it saves Omid it's worth a shot... Pun not intended." She shoots at the lock, it doesn't open.

        "Are you fucking crazy?" Vernon gasps, I hear the moans of walkers and the banging on the doors.

        "Oh shit!" Christa cries.        

        Then more gunshots, a man walks into the room, I can tell he's broad and african-american.

        "Lee, Thank god!" Christa hugs "Lee" and explains the situation to him.

        Lee finds some tapes on one of Jamie's friends, Anna Corea. Who vanished without a trace.. me and Jane stare at eachother in shock, then Lee enters in the combo on the lock and opens it. I look at Jane with a look of, "Should we reveal ourselves?" She glares at me for a second and they take some medicine, "This will do the trick..." Lee says, and they exit, closing the door behind them.

        Jane and I exit our hiding spot and empty the cabinets. Then exit the room and walk to the entrance, Lilly meets us there, but a hatchet is keeping a whole horde of walkers from coming into the building, "I know.. those people." Lilly cries, and we exit through a hole in the roof.

        We meet back with the group, all of them have a lot of stuff on their backs, and I hug Austin and take his bags off him. I find a little nailfile laying on the ground and I decide to pick it up... I don't know how a nail file can help, but I take it anyways.

        "Guys.. I'm gonna go... It's been very nice riding with you... but I'm just slowing you guys down... I don't want to kill you all by my ederly self. For real.. I have Jesus's autograph in my bible. I can't stick around and watch the walkers win against all of you.. and it's valid.. they will win.. I will accept anybody who wishes to come with me." Kryda steps up.

        "Me.." Brandon says, "I'll go with you."

        We all stare at eachother in shock. "Well.. we must get going."

        I allow them to take one gun each and one round of bullets, and two water bottles, and we send them on their way. They're right.. Kryda is old, and she will just slow us down, she hasn't done anything for the group except for this anyways.

        We all make it back the the Armory.

        I couldn't sleep for some reason tonight... The atmosphere seemed almost different, and I hear a blood curtling scream in the distance.. and it is Kryda's.. I vividly hear her voice.. and I know she's gone.. Then another.. Brandon's done for. I exit the shop and sit down on a little bench. When I see Jane and Jamie. When they spot me they're like deer in headlights, "Shit.." Jane sighs.

        "What are you doing.." I say worriedly.

Jane looks at me, "Look, buddy... you saved us so many times.. and I'm so grateful for that..  but I have to go... WE have to go.. Kryda was right.. they're going to win one day.. and I can't sit here and watch."

        "I understand." I look down.

Jane sighs again, "Look.. I heard of a settlement up north.. that's where me and Jamie are heading. If you ever need to... seperate from them.. here.." Jane gives me a map, the settlement's location circled in red.

        "Thanks.." I look down and tuck it in my pocket, Hugging her I take off my leather jacket and give it to her, along with the nailfile, "Take it... to remember me by.." I say.

        She smiles and takes it, "Thanks.. see you around."

        They both turn around, their bags on their backs, and they run away.. until I can't see them anymore.
