Part Sixteen: Soldier 76 x Female Reader - Anything

Rating: MODERATE

Author's Note: This is my first Soldier 76 story and I hope I've correctly assessed his character to mimic him in this little story. Regarding content, you need the money and you have an opportunity to acquire funding... Illegally. Will Jack Morrison let you rot away in a jail cell or will he see through your criminal activity and give truly anything to be with you?

I crept along the tiled floors on the second floor, tiptoeing my way over to the alarm system in an attempt to deactivate it. I entered the password, successfully disabling the invisible laser beams set along the bottom floor, near the vault.  An informant of mine had given me the material needed for me to be able to successfully break into the bank without attracting attention.

I smiled, slowly crawling down the stairs towards the vault, entering combination after combination before successfully cracking it open. I crept in with my duffle bag in hand, smiling, greedily staring at the millions of dollars piled in front of me. I wasn't a selfish person and only would take what I needed for my family.

I shoved the bundles of notes into my bag, careful to be quiet and not disturb the security guard, who was standing at the front of the building. He hadn't noticed my stealthy presence. I zipped up my bag before crawling back out of the vault and creeping my way up the stairs. I repaired the alarm system, hoping they wouldn't notice the missing money.

I stood on top of the ledge on the second floor, where I saw my grapple hook attached to the hatch on the ceiling. It was easy enough lowering myself down and swinging over to the ledge, but to pull myself up the rope required a lot of upper body strength, and I wasn't sure if I could do this with a heavy bag on my back. One false move and I'd either fall to my death or set off the alarm system.

I took a deep breath, before jumping with the duffle bag strapped to my back, my legs dangling over the air, as my gloves gripped against the rope. My arms were shaking, as I silently hoisted myself up. It was agonisingly slow, as the hatch seemed so far away. However, I didn't give up and pulled myself through the top, climbing onto the roof of the building. I lay on the roof, exhausted, pulling the duffle bag off of my back and resting it next to me. I had done it. It had been a success.

I smiled, as I moved my legs to stand up. Unfortunately, I clumsily kicked the grapple hook and rope, sending it down into the building. My eyes widened in horror, as I saw through my night-vision goggles, the rope fall into the open space, activating the laser alarms. My head began spinning, as the sirens filled the air and I heard the security guard call the authorities. I had to leave, now.

I scaled down the wall, clinging onto a pipe, as my grapple hook was now in the building. I jumped to the floor, as I heard police sirens arrive at the front of the building, and I sprinted off into the night. I ducked through alleyways and streets, continuing hearing commotion.

'Jack, flank around Fifth street' I heard a voice growl from the street. I was hiding in an alleyway, my back pressed against the wall. The figure made his way straight past me, completely oblivious of my presence. I sucked in light breaths, before creeping back the way he came and running again.

I ran through more streets and alleyways, not making a sound. I crouched down, catching my breath, as I heard voices behind me.

'There's been spotted activity on booker avenue, they've requested back up. We might have them' the voice growled.

'Alright Reyes, you take Jesse and I'll continue searching here' the second voice commanded.

The two parted and I knew one was still around. I had to hide. He would be here any minute. I frowned, I didn't have many options. I threw my bag into the dumpster, as I crouched in front of it, hoping he wouldn't spot me. I considered jumping in it, but I knew it would make more noise.
