Author's Note: This story involves self mutilation, so reader discretion is advised. Regarding content, you're being forced to go after Jesse McCree, as the infamous Reaper is holding your family hostage. Will you be able to pull the trigger and end Jesse's life or will the spark between you two help save your family?________________________________________________________________________________
I scratched at my beard, taking shelter behind a table in a lonely saloon, as I heard a bullet whistle through my ears. Reaper was going to kill me, if this cowboy didn't first. I blindly fired in front of me, extremely dehydrated and confused. I didn't have a choice; he had my mother and sister. I needed to do this, I needed to kill Jesse McCree.
I had been wandering around the wild west for days now and had run out of food and water. I had asked about Jesse McCree and no one would speak. When I did find him, it looked as if he had been tipped off about my impending ambush. I had never killed anyone before, and when I walked into the saloon, my gun aiming at his head, I couldn't bring myself to do it. Jesse reacted quickly though, firing a warning shot just above my head, purposefully missing.
I took cover behind a table, as the rest of the patrons fled. I couldn't do this. I didn't want to die but I knew the one they called the Reaper would kill my family if I didn't. I began to cry behind the table, my tears blinding my vision, that I didn't see him flank and sneak up behind me.
I saw him at the last second, and before I could shoot my weapon, he had his gun to my head. I dropped my pistol, my hands shaking as I raised them, surrendering. I was sobbing at this point, closing my eyes, ready to die. My breaths were staggered and uncontrolled, but Jesse gave me mercy, lowering his gun and taking mine.
'Who are you?' he growled, gripping me at the collar of the shirt, lifting my frail body off the ground.
I couldn't answer.
'Don't give me any more reason to kill you kid' he spat, dropping me to the floor. I began to shake; my whole body couldn't take this stress and dehydration.
'Please. I need to save my family' I begged before my eyes rolled to the back of my head. I began to dribble, and shake, my entire body convulsing. I closed my eyes, as I began to fall unconscious.
'I'll take care of him' I faintly heard, as the diners made their way back into the saloon.
I felt him pick me up in his arms and carry me out of the swinging doors. Jesse sat me up on his horse before quickly jumping up himself. He forced my arms around his waist, making sure I was balanced before riding off into the sunset.
The last sound I remember was the galloping of his horse and the smell of cigar smoke, before my world faded to black.
I awoke lying on my back in what seemed to be an underground hideout. I opened my mouth to talk but I couldn't make a sound; my voice was gone. I frowned, trying to move, but my hands and feet were tied. I was captured and was sure the Reaper was going to kill my family. Tears swelled in my eyes, as I realised this. I knew I had a time limit and that if I wasn't successful, he would kill my family regardless of whether I failed trying or not.
'Good morning darlin', enjoy your beauty rest?' I heard Jesse chuckle. He was sitting on the ground, scrolling through my phone and contacts.
He frowned, as he saw the tears roll down my face. Jesse stood up, leaving my phone on the ground, before walking over the mattress I was lying on.
