Part Forty-Nine: McCree x Reaper - He Knew

Rating: MODERATE.

Author's Note: Based off of Retribution and the dialogue between Reyes and McCree... Only a little bit kinky, sorry to disappoint! Regarding content, does Jesse really despise Reyes for killing Antonio or is he hiding his true sentiments?

Reyes nodded at me, as he took out the trooper above. I frowned up at him. I could handle myself. I didn't need him looking over me, but he knew I was in trouble. He knew.

I looked over to see the "scientist" drain the life out of more soldiers while the ninja sliced at the throats of our enemies. We were close to Antonio and I could taste his incarceration.

I felt Reyes flinch as Antonio taunted him, informing him of his connections and how our mission would have been for nothing. I saw his eyebrows furrow before extending his gun.

I reached out to stop him but it was too late.

"Reyes, what did you do?" I screamed, anger pulsating through me as I reached for his shoulder, dragging him backwards to face me.

"This was not part of the plan," I yelled at him, nearly spitting in his face out of disgust.

"Well, looks like we're going with plan B," Reyes said with nonchalance, unaffected by my aggressive tone.

I stuffed a cigar in my mouth, as we made our way down the stairs. I heard soldiers surrounding us, as I whipped out my peacekeeper.

"Looks like this place is sealed tight. Someone start a breach on the front door. We need to get out of here before the whole base is on top of us," Reyes demanded.

"Almost like someone woke 'em up," I muttered, spitting in his direction, disgust running through me.

Reyes turned to me, getting close to my face.

"Jesse, get that door open," he growled.

"Whatever you say, commander," I said sarcastically, provoking him.

"There's that famous McCree attitude," Reyes sighed, rolling his eyes and walking away.

"I'll try to adjust it for you, boss. Wouldn't want to cause any problems," I called out towards him, as I breached the door. I turned around, wanting to push him further.

"Did you even consider what was going to happen before you pulled the trigger?" I yelled, as I shot one of the bulkier soldiers.

"I made a decision. I'll deal with the consequences," Reyes muttered, as he brutally attacked one of the assassins. I was pushing him.

"Oh like getting the four of us killed?" I hissed, as I used my flash grenade to stun another trooper.

"That's not going to happen," Reyes scoffed. Cocky bastard.

I approached him, pushing him in the chest. I had enough. If I was going to die, I might as well be honest with him.

"Why'd you kill Antonio? He make you angry? Is that all it takes?" I laughed, antagonising him further.

"He thought he was untouchable. He was mistaken," Reyes growled, his breath hot on my face.

Reyes looked at me before the anger evaporated from his eyes. He knew.

"This mess was all worth it to see McCree trying to pass himself off as a waiter," he purred.

I felt my face go red. He always knew.
