Part Forty-Six: McCree x Male Reader - Rule Breaker
Rating: MODERATE
Author's Note: Partially dedicated to @wholesomewriterboi, it's been a while and I've missed you! Sorry for not updating in ages, as I'm working three jobs and am also writing a novel as well. But, I got a little nostalgic, and decided to spin this piece together - hope you all enjoy!
Regarding content, you're an uptight, serious employee spending mundane hours at a job you don't particularly care for. You're one for following protocol and rules, that is, until Jesse McCree walks into your life...
________________________________________________________________________________You sighed, as you turned the coffee grinder on, hearing the fragile beans fall down into the blades. It was going to be another painful day, bartending and brewing coffees and teas for nine hours. Another mediocre Wednesday, and you knew it was going to be quiet, making the shift drag on even longer.
You rubbed your eyes, and yawned, looking at your watch. It had only been 20 minutes and the new employee you were supposed to be training was late. You frowned, wondering if you should report his poor time management to your supervisor, before deciding against it.
You drummed your fingers along the table top before deciding to make yourself a coffee, hoping it wasn't too bitter.
You frothed the milk before making yourself a latte, frustrated that the new person was so late. You were opening in 10 minutes and needed to show him some of the tasks to complete before being open for business.
'A little basic, don't ya think?' a voice boomed, his southern accent strong and sarcastic.
'You must be the new bartender, did you have trouble with your car?' you sighed, a scowl forming on your face as you noticed his tardiness.
'Nope, I'll arrive when I decide to get here' he responded, not caring about his disorganisation.
'Don't know if the boss will like that' you hissed, immediately disgusted by his nonchalant and ignorant attitude.
'Boss doesn't have to know, does he?' he responded, raising an eyebrow, almost as if to read your intentions as to whether you were going to report him.
You swallowed, rolling your eyes, biting your tongue.
'I'm Jesse, by the way, and you are?' Jesse announced, attempting to make conversation.
'Someone who cares about their job more than you do, Jesse' you responded sarcastically, as you left, welcoming the first customer into the café.
After the morning rush, you and Jesse were left alone once again. You sipped at your coffee, trying to stop him from getting under your skin.
'You gonna make me a coffee or what?' Jesse asked rudely, hovering next to you by the machine.
'You seem rather capable considering you were also hired as a barista' you snarled, rattled by his obnoxious persona.
Jesse snorted, as he ground the coffee beans before making an espresso.
'The texture isn't right, adjust the grinder' you lectured, moving next to him and habitually fiddling with the machine.
'Back off, it's fine' Jesse growled, grabbing your hand and pushing it away aggressively.
'What's your problem?' you growled, having enough of his poor work ethic.
'God, you're such a little bitch' Jesse muttered under his breath, garnering your attention.
'Excuse me? What the fuck is wrong with you?' you said, raising your voice.
