In this I'm trying to convey that we aren't relevant to the Universe, but we're still important as humanity.
Sunsets of glowing rock
In a sky of broken clouds
Above an Earth of people, irrelevant,
Yet their laughter rings so loud.
The Universe told me he loved me,
The Ocean sang my name,
The Air swam through me gently
To shush me to sleep again.
The stars are dead
And planets are made,
A blink to them
Is to us a life in daze
But the light travels so far
To illuminate our lives
So it can see us clearly
And create our unused minds.
One change is not enough,
Enough is only one change,
If to gain is only one
Then one is enough to gain.
To say we do not matter
Against the Universe's smile
Is to compare an atom
To that of a thousand miles.
We can not do much
But sit and think. Create,
We are comparable
To such an empty space.
The Universe told me he loved me,
I shouted and cried it back
Because to compare my cries to its whisper
Is to compare vertebrae to a back.
