For awhile my apartment was silent, my stirring in my sleep the only sound heard. I couldn't get the right position and forced myself to toss and turn until I was comfortable. The bed was either too warm in one spot or far too cold in the other, reminding me that I was alone tonight.
He's with his friends, Eun Chae.
I sighed heavily, rolling over once again and taking my blankets with me. This time I was staring directly at the empty place on the bed that was far too cold for me to sleep on. My droopy eyes blinked heavily as I hoped he would have changed his mind and come home to me. Despite knowing this was his free time from work, I wanted him to be here with me.
As selfish as it seemed, I don't think I really cared so late into the night. I was half awake anyhow, and it wasn't like he could hear my complaints. As long as this was all in my head, I didn't see a problem in wishing my boyfriend was cuddling me and not with his friends.
Okay maybe that's still selfish.
I go to roll over again, scrunching a handful of my pillow into my fist to take it with me. Just as I sit up partially, my cell phone blares it's usually tune and startles me. Thinking it was my boyfriend, I rolled to the far end of my side and towards the night stand.
"Hello?" I answer quickly, not bothering to look at the caller ID. Heavy breathing came from the other end and made me frown. "Hello?"
I go to pull back my phone to check the number when a large crash came from the other end, causing me to put the phone back to my ear instantly. A few mumbling and a light song played within my ear drums and I realized what was happening.
"We need you again," the voice grumbles tiredly. In the background was a familiar humming of a man I so desperately wished was beside me. There was several shuffling again before the caller hung up.
Pulling back my phone, I read Kihyun's name that brightly shown on the screen. Sighing heavily, I brushed back my hair from my face and stood up, looking all around the dark room for my clothes from earlier. I grabbed my keys and headed out the door.
I made my way into the famous bar, knowing this was exactly where my friends were. Anytime there was a celebration, they were here. And due to their big hit with the latest album, my boys wanted to celebrate. Taking my boyfriend with them, of course.
All the way in the back stood a dented up and old wooden table. It was our favorite table since it held so much memories, but looking at it now seemed to be more of a nuisance. The thought of my boyfriend getting absolutely drunk by this table left a bitter taste in my mouth the closer I got to it. I had to tear my eyes from it to search around for the boys who had so eagerly called me for help.
"Eun Chae! Over here!"
I turned at the sound of my name, looking to the right of the wooden table and towards the back end of the bar. Right outside the staff room were my boys, all gathered around a body that was slouched to the cold floor. My eyes squinted to see who it was, but by seeing all but one person, I realized exactly who was on the floor, dead drunk.
"Eun Chae?" The voice slurs in confusion. "My baby girl is here?" The person pushes himself off the floor and wobbles to stand up right.
Kihyun glances at me as I move to make myself a part of the circle. "He had one too many drinks again," he sighs and shakes his head. "But this time all he could do is talk about you. He refuses to even move if you weren't here."
My eyes maneuvered to my boyfriend. His blond hair sticking up in all directions, his shirt no longer tucked in as it was when he left my place, one pant leg rolled up. I tsked at him. "And none of you can't pick him up?" I questioned, eying the six guys who surrounded him.
Hyungwon raised a brow at me. "Do you think it's easy lifting someone who doesn't want to leave? If it was kid it would be easier but that's not the case."
Placing my hand on my hips, I stared at Wonho. "Lee Hoseok why are you causing trouble?" My usual scolding stance was brought to his attention as his eyes float up to me.
His lips turn into an instant, heart warming grin. "Baby!" He cheers, moving to wrap his arms around me. "I knew you'd come," he whispers in my hair, using a hand to pet it while holding me close.
I rolled my eyes, trying to move so that I wouldn't suffocate in his large chest. "Why couldn't you have gone home with them? You use to live with them, you know. It's just one night."
It wasn't like I exactly was wanting him to stay away from me either...
Shownu interjects my conversation with Wonho and crosses his arms over his chest. "Truthfully, he doesn't like staying with us anymore. But we convince him by taking him to the bar and out of your hair." He bit his lip as guilt filled his eyes. "I'm sorry you have to come do this again, Chae. He's just being a real pain."
I slowly brought a dragging hand up and down Hoseok's back to soothe him. I could barely see over his shoulder to his friends, but I knew they felt bad. "Its alright," I reason with a short nod. "If I was you I would have left him so it's better to come get me."
"I love you, Eun Chae."
I smiled at the mumbles coming from my boyfriends mouth. "Love you too, although you're a pain." I looked to our friends and pointed at his back with my free hand. "Little help please?"
Minhyuk places down his drink. "You taking him home?"
I frowned. "Was there something else you guys needed to do?"
He shakes his head and laughs. "No, no. He gave something to me before he drank and said it was for you when you came to take him home." Minhyuk reaches into his pocket to pull out a box.
So this turd knew I'd be the one to come get him.
Noticing I was narrowing my eyes, Minhyuk quickly gives me the small black box. "It's a gift from him. He feels bad for always causing trouble." Minhyuk then glances at the others. "But we all chipped in too, as we also feel bad."
As I attempt to reach both arms around Wonho's waist to open it, Kihyun quickly placed his hands over mine to stop me. "Open it when you are home, ok? We don't want it getting lost."
I smirked at him, raising a brow. "Aww, how sweet you guys are embarressed." I reach out my free arm and punch Jooheon's side, making him stumble slightly in surprise.
He furrows his brows and holds the spot I punched. He didn't say anything but turned his stare into a narrowed gaze. I laugh at Joo's expression and waited as he reached down to grab Wonho from my grasp.
I lightly passed my boyfriend over, noticing Hoseok's eyes still wide open as he watched in horror as I slowly was becoming further away from him. "Okay so I'll be going!" I lifted up the box slightly. "Thanks for this. And please, please stop letting him drink so much."
Changkyun chuckled. "You don't like your koala baby?"
"No," I deadpanned. "He's a pain in the neck is what he is."
I rush to follow Jooheon out the door, grabbing my boyfriends outstretched and awaiting hand. Wonho's eyes filled up with delight as he started to draw circles around my wrist to occupy himself. I could only watch as the love of my life was turning into a complete child. But I still smiled at him and kissed the top of his head, walking along side of Joo as he dragged out Wonho.
