"Darling?" I called effortlessly as I turned the corner of the long hallway, knowing he was bound to be at the very end in his office. There was no response but I could feel his presence clearly within our home. "I have something for you."
Opening his office door, my eyes immediately went to the figure working at his desk. He didn't acknowledge my presence and kept on working, allowing me to quietly enter his workspace. With the outstretch of my fingers towards the door, I pushed some magic to close it quickly behind me.
"Oh? Are you busy?" I query, a retoric question really. It was obvious he had many things on his plate, but I had to say was only important in that moment. It should be addressed while it still can.
Yuto's eyes meet mine finally, the closer I got. I could tell my scent was bothering the wolf inside of him, making me smirk. "What is it, Norikyo?"
I gently place my arm around his shoulder and lean against his sitting frame. My other free hand goes to comb the hair out of his face. "I have a gift for you, darling."
His eyes scrunch as he attempts to read my thoughts. But due to the mating season not in session for awhile, his mind reading skills were rusty and, therefore, could not be connect with that of my own. "If it's another dog toy I'm ignoring you for a week, " he threatens.
I shake my head with a laugh. "How cruel," I say despite the smile across my lips. My fingers fluttered a bit to hide away a spell I had casted before entering. "I have something better to inform you."
The scent had filled him after a moment, the dog in him coming out as he looked to me with wide eyes. "My beautiful fairy Norikyo, is this what I think it is?" His nose crinkling to identify the scent. "Why have I not noticed it before?"
My hand pushes down on his shoulder to keep him still. "A little spell can hide any scent I so wish it to," I say knowingly. It was evident his excitement was not one to be tamed. "Now, would you like to feel our baby?"
His hand immediately went to my stomach to feel for out child, his inner wolf making him react quickly in order for his excitement to soar. Yuto's eyes were filled with love as he looks up to me. "When did you know?"
I started to play with his hair again. "Not very long. Long enough to hide it's scent to surprise you. It's no fun if you can sense the baby before it's mother can," I giggle.
"He's an alpha king," Yuto states proudly.
I frowned. "He?"
Did he just..?
He nods and looks back down to my stomach. "Yes, he. Our son. He will be a strong alpha king. A pack leader of war."
Pushing myself away slowly, the clear distaste on my face went unnoticed by him. "My child will not be one of war. He is also a fairy prince, mind you. We don't engage in war, Yuto."
At the sound of his name, his eyes flitted upwards. Although, he was too late to act on my unhappiness as I marched out of his office. I attempt to surprise him with the beauty of life, and he compared it to the ugly sight of death and war. Something my kind turned the other cheek to.
I flick my wrist, magic encircling me before it erased my presence entirely. Instead, I was brought to my courters to sulk at the thought of my child possibly being hurt. A fairy's birth life was quicker than other beings and wouldn't last very long. If I allowed my son to go out into war, he would last very long with my blood.
But he had his father's blood.
Sighing, I lay out on my bed. My grace and elegance leaving me immediately as I thought of how much trouble this baby would encounter. Being half fairy and half werewolf would be difficult when finding his stance and power in life.
I sat there for several hours, trying my hardest to read my child's future. But with it being so young and withing a womb, it was almost impossible to get a glimpse. With a huff, I gave up and fell asleep.
My senses woke to a familiar scent. Opening my eyes slowly I watch as Yuto stared down at me, his hand tracing my face softly. But I didn't say a word and just watched.
He smiled at me. "How are you feeling, Norikyo?"
"I'm fine to say the least, just worried. The future may hold some unpleasant things that I'm afraid I may not be able to handle." Sighing, I turned into Yuto. "You scared me with your words, darling."
His eyebrows furrowed. "So easily? You aren't someone to be easily moved by my words. Another reason why it had taken me so long to be with you."
I chuckled tiredly. "But it's just a feeling I can't shake off. You mentioned my child being an alpha king, something that I myself could never do."
Yuto tucks a piece of hair behind my ear. "But that's what I am. Aren't you considering my power being inherited as well?"
"To be honest I could only consider my weaknesses. I didn't think that with both our powers, he may be stronger than any other creature. Fairy magic and wolf strength in one is not that easy to defeat."
"Or obtain," He comments. "We will train him, my love. With us guiding him we won't have to worry about his strength. Our child will learn it."
