There was a bright, beautiful glow at the ends of the ocean. Everyday the light would illuminate the waters, reaching high in the sky for several hours before falling back to the ground to rest. And because of this glow, you would leave the castle for a moment to watch it rise and fall each day.

Today was no different. You informed the castle guards of your whereabouts before pushing you human form through to the ocean. Although deep enough to not fight against the waves, you still struggled to kick your feet within the water. It took only a moment before your legs formed into your natural figure of a beautiful blue tail and you began to swim faster.

As you go to swim towards the usual reef that allowed you to gaze at the glow, you felt a presence join you in the process of the swim. You turned to look at the man who struggled to keep up with your quick pace. He furiously kicked his legs and puffed out his cheeks to keep in the breath that he held.

You smiled at him. "Darling, why did you come out of the palace?"

You slow yourself down by a lot. It was obvious that a human could not keep up with a mermaid like yourself so you didn't push him. Yet, it was different to see your husband attempt to swim with you.

He just stared at you, swooping out his arms and attempting to smile. You took that as a message that he also wished to see the glow with you as the morning came around. He would always call that glow "the sun" and mentioned once or twice of wanting to join you in watching it rise. The only problem was that his sleep schedule was far different from yours, and he could never wake in time to see it. Your heart was too soft for you to ever disrupt his peaceful rest.

You both reached the reef bed, resting gently on it. After glancing his way, you realized he was getting low on oxygen. Gently taking his face within your hands, you look into his eyes for confirmation before placing a delicate kiss to his lips. This kiss filled his lungs with enough oxygen to let him continue to stay out in the water awhile longer.

Youngkyun took your hand, placing it on his lap and began to rub small circles over your pale palm. It was a familiar gesture that made your heart skip a few beats. He lifted his gaze onto the glow and watched as it slowly started to rise.

As you looked between him and the glow, you remembered the first night you met him. Your home was deep within the ocean, but was empty in water. Humans never went down as far as he had gone that day to reach the palace. Truthfully, you were surprised to see that the prince of a human clan had come into your home. But, you let that surprise go so that he didn't feel awkward.

In the castle, everyone was forced into a human form due to the lack of water. There was more oxygen in the castle than most would believe. It was quite easy for your husband to disguise himself that day, but he didn't. He told the truth of whom he was, and you had to give him respect for that. In the end, you chose that human to become the king of all merfolk.

Even so, he could only manage staying inside the castle. If he wanted to leave the castle, even for a short amount of time, he needed you. You were his breath and practically the reason he could live. The other choice was to have a human send down an oxygen tank, but that was risky in letting other people know of his location.

This human, despite lacking all qualities of a sea creature, was the most considerate and brilliant creature you had ever met! Although sometimes silly and had some human quirks, he was strong and attentive. He was exactly what your kingdom needed.

A tap to your shoulder brought your attention away from the glow and out of your thoughts. You smile at your husband as he points back the way you had come, as if to signal if you wanted to go home. You nodded and grabbed his hand, letting your tail lazily push you both back home.

When you entered the palace, he was sopping wet. Compared to you, who turned back into a human form and was completely dry. "Can I have a towel?" He asks sheepishly.

You looked at yourself for a moment before looking to his attire. "Oh, right!" You laugh, waving a maid so that she could get one for him. "I'm sorry darling, I have yet to get use to this."

You never really encountered very many humans before him. Let alone be with them as often as you two were. So you were still a little uninformed of how things differed between the two species. But, nevertheless, you were determined to become accustomed to it.

The maid handed him the towel and he immediately ruffled his long hair. A beautiful smile played along his lips that opened to a grin as he let out a laugh. "Maybe I can someday learn how to keep myself dry." He stands up straight and pulled at the shirt that clung to his skin. "I'm not sure what I'm doing now is exactly working."

You rolled your eyes, stepping into the shoes the maid provided for you. You walked past your husband to climb the stairs to your shared chamber. You entered it with your eyes looking for the clothes. When you found the ones you were looking for, you didn't expect him to be right behind you.

He laughed as you jumped. "One thing I'm better at than you is walking. I'm use to these human legs. Where as you act like a toddler walking for the first time."

You pushed the clothes against his chest. "I'll have you know I've been walking for over one hundred years!" You protested, watching as he slipped off the night shirt he wore out in the water. "I prefer my tail anyhow."

He chuckled. "Don't remind me how old my wife is. On land, that's not exactly something to brag about."

You scoffed, staring at him in disbelief as he scurried away into the bathroom, throwing you a wink before closing the door tightly.
