"I like you forever, I'll love you for always. As long as I'm living, my baby you'll be."
I laid still on the bed, listening to the soft snores above my head. The heartbeat that accompanied the snores was slow and steady beneath me as I was sprawled against Juho's chest. The tips of my fingers traced over his bare skin as I soaked in this moment.
A soft sigh left my lips and I snuggled closer to him. As comfortable as I was, I couldn't sleep. This was our routine for his days off, and typically I was the first one out. But today, as my stomach was queasy and unsettling, I decided to wait out this nap until he woke. It wasn't the most interesting thing that I could do, but it wasn't the worst.
He had been working so hard lately. All of his boys, too. Everyday was practice, practice, practice. The big comeback day was nearing us fast, and even I was just about stressed over it. It definitely was taking their energy, but they were happy while doing it. Anything to please their Fantasy's.
As I go to remove my head from Juho, knowing that staying here would just grow to be too boring for my taste, I felt his arm wrap around my waist and snuggly pull me closer. "Where are you going?"
Caught.
"I was going to go out for a walk. Get some fresh air for the baby," I respond quietly, sitting up to look at his beautiful, tired face. I placed my palm on his cheek, rubbing my thumb over the bone to soothe him. "You can stay here, darling. I just couldn't get any sleep."
He kept his eyes shut as he leans into my hand. "No, no I'll go. I can't sleep without you here, anyway," he mumbles, his voice low and raspy due to the short nap he had just woke from. "Just give me a minute."
I smiled lightly before kissing his lips. "Alright, I will get ready." I stood to my feet carefully, walking straight into the opened closet. I grabbed my jacket from the hanger, throwing it on and checking myself in the mirror. The two month baby bump just barely showing through my shirt.
I slipped on sneakers before going back into our bedroom. My eyes immediately went to the large figure that soundly slept once again on our bed. Feeling my heart drop a little, I quietly made my way to him.
One shake.
"Babe?"
Another shake.
"I'm leaving."
With no response, I had to give up with a laugh. I would have preferred him to stay asleep and rest rather to get up for my sake. So, I left the house with a small note on the table in case he woke again before I returned.
The air was nice an chill today, the sun behind clouds and the wind softly blowing. It felt relaxing to go on a walk around the neighborhood, as I haven't had this much free time in awhile. I took the path through the park, watching as the young kids played around on the slides with a smile.
One day, for sure, our child would be there too, climbing those monkey bars and happily going down the slides. It might take quite some time, but they would eventually get a hang of it with Juho's help.
I head toward the green bench in the wood chip area. Just as I sit down, my name was belted out from behind me, causing me to quickly turn. My eyes just about bulged from my head to see Juho running across the park in his pajamas. His hand was pressing firmly on his noggin to keep his beanie from following the wind, which was harshly pushing against him.
"Um?" I questioned when he finally made it in front of me. "Hi?"
He grinned. "I told you I wanted to come!" He excitedly says, plopping down beside me. His arms wrap around my side and pulls me closer. "Why didn't you wake me?"
I made a false smile. "Right..." I turned my head to him. "Is that my Pooh Bear beanie?" I questioned as I pointed to it.
He nods. "I couldn't find mine." He tugs at his dark blue coat. "But I found this right beside the hat so I took both."
I snorted a laugh, shaking my head as I turned away and leaned back into him. "You're welcome, I guess." My eyes started to unconsciously watch the children again, a smile forming on my lips as I imagined our future together.
Juho's hand suddenly pushes down on my eyebrows. "What you thinking about?" He asks, leaning in real close.
"Our baby."
"Me too," he says, releasing my eyebrows and kissing the top of my head. "He will be a great kid."
"Or she."
He shrugged and smiled. "Either way. They have you as a mother. And they are one lucky baby."
