"Be...our...guest! Be our guest, put our service to the test!"
I giggled at the sight, watching as my daughter started up at me curiously. The television played in the background, music from the Disney movie making me sing along. But I couldn't just do it normally, no. I had to make it funny to amuse myself on this boring day.
My fingers gently opened and closed my daughter's lips, mimicking the lyrics. "Tie your napkin 'round your neck, Cherie," I say aloud, voicing over for my four month old child. I lowered my pitch to match the singer and giggled every now and again.
So-young just sits on my lap, letting me play with her face as she wiggles anytime I wiggled. She didn't laugh too much, but every once and awhile she got excited along with me and kicked her legs. A few times she took in large breaths as she did so, making me draw back my hands to let her do her thing. It was just an adorable time for us.
The song continued to play as we both wiggled and moved along to it. Occasionally I glanced up at the tv to see the old movie that use to be my favorite. "Wouldn't it be cute if you liked this movie as well?" I questioned her, knowing I wouldn't get a response.
My eyes went back down to her pretty ones. "Yeah, it would mommy!" I voice for her, moving her small lips again. I had to stifle my laughter after seeing the sight and just continued to sing.
"Baby I'm home. I got the food," Sanghyuk calls out as he enters the house, a few bags in his hand. He sets them in the island counter, glancing over his shoulder to see what I was doing. He smiles as he watches me play with our daughter.
"Alright I'm coming." I stood to my feet with So-young. "Oooh what do they feed you?" I asked in a strained, exaggerated voice.
Sanghyuk snorted. "She likes to eat a lot, that's for sure," he comments and shakes his head. As I put the baby in her cute little chair, her father pulled the sandwiches from the bag and placed them out for us.
I booped So-young's nose. "That's okay, isn't it? You get to be mommy's plump roll," I tell her, pulling her arms up the little seat as I did my best to have it support her. "Nothing wrong with having some rolls. They are fun to squish."
Dawon bursts into laughter, covering his mouth with his hands as he looks away from us. "You are so weird." He grabs me a plate before handing me my food. "But I love you."
I shrugged. "The fatter the better. They are fun to cuddle." I bit into my sandwich before looking at my daughter, scrunching my nose and moving around her small feet that were in dark purple socks. "And just plain adorable."
Sanghyuk nods in agreement before turning his head at the sound of the television. "What were you girls watching?"
I smiled. "Beauty and the Beast!"
"Ah, your favorite." He nods to that as well before stopping himself from taking another bite of his sandwich. He looks at the counter in thought. "Since Halloween is coming up, why not dress her as Belle?"
My eyes lit up at the idea. "How adorable!" I squealed, immediately looking to So-young. "And your dad can be papa! The old man!"
Dawon frowned. "Why not the beast? He's manly and cool."
"Right. Exactly my point. Why don't you play the horse instead?" I grinned, feigning innocence.
He shot me a pouty expression before finishing his food. I couldn't help but laugh, leaning over to kiss his cheek as he slowly ate it, the realization that he wasn't going to win this round hitting him.
"I'll get you next time, baby."
