Inside David's Head (Chapter 19)

Dinner went by pretty fast. The only thing that caused a troublesome silence was when Chiron announced the quest that you, b/f/n, David, Zion, Leo, Jaguar and Nico were going on. After that you and your friends decided to  quickly eat and get out of there, knowing that while everyone is having fun at the campfire, you guys are going to train long and hard, especially with the time limit. 

However, once you got there you heard Leo groan, followed by a sad sigh from Jaguar. "Can't we have a belly rest first? I had one to many flaming hot tacos!" Exclaimed Leo, while giving a wink towards Jaguar, who immediately got the message. "Oh! My poor stomach! Don't really feel like regurgitating all over the place, maybe just a few minutes of rest shall do?" Jaguar said while returning a grin to Leo. You couldn't help but let out a chuckle, "Ok over actors, do we agree on five minutes belly rest?" You asked everyone, who immediately nodded their heads afterwards. 

Everyone set off  to find a place to sit in the bleachers comfortably, you sat next to b/f/n and David, playing a little game of truth or dare. Leo sat to himself looking lonely, so Jaguar dragged Zion and Nico along to sit with him. After three minutes passed, b/f/n got bored and went to talk with Zion, leaving you alone with David Write. 

Silence fell between you, but it wasn't the uncomfortable kind, but the relaxing one. You closed your eyes, visualizing battle strategies, the blessing of Athena at work. You thought up of some pretty good battle strategies, and decided they were worth sharing. You opened your eyes.

What you didn't know when you  closed your eyes is that a certain son of Zeus had his eyes locked on you. David kept scanning you up and down, taking in your features. The way her y/h/l y/h/c reflects the golden rays of the sun. Her y/s/c skin glows when she is concentrating hard, or just sitting in the sun. Even when she has a calm, even breathing next to me, it drives me just as crazy for her! I wish I could tell her how I feel before anything happens, but what if I ruin the strong friendship we already have? What if....no. No more 'what ifs.' I need to tell her now. Right now. Then a new voice was heard inside his head. It sounded like Zion. Dude finally!!! I've been waiting for you to ask her! JUST DO IT!!!!!! And if things go wrong you still have me! 

Zion?! How the heck did you get into my head?!!! And how long were you in there? What did you hear?!!!

Yes, it's Zion. 

Great, now I got goat boy in my head.

Hey! I heard that!! Anyway, I heard all of it. Dang your  really  descriptive about her, I could almost think your a child of Aphrodite! 

Dude, seriously?!

You really need to just ask her!!! She is right there!  This is your chance!!!

Ok, I'm going to do it. 

Yay! By the way, how I got into your head. I just set up an empathy link, so I can feel your emotions and thoughts, and you to mine. I don't really know about physical injury though, or death, so just don't get killed!  He left after that. 

David turned around to look at Zion, who gave him the thumbs up. Then he turned back to look at y/n, you just happen to open your eyes. Well, here goes nothing...

"Hey y/n." 

You looked up at David to see him look, nervous? What was he nervous about?

"Yes?" You asked, curious. 

"I just wanted to tell you that I..." his sentence was caught off short by Nico and b/f/n. 

"Times up!" B/f/n squeaked.

"Let's get training!" Nico suggested. Drawing out his stygon iron sword. 

You unsheathed Moirai and stepped on the arena floor. David right behind you with his sword, fulmen, along with the others, Leo with a hammer. Jaguar surprisingly reached into her pocket and brought out her...lipstick? Leo laughed. "Oh no! Everybody run! Jaguar has lipstick and she isn't afraid to use it!" At this Jaguar smirked, as if having delt with many times before. "Oh I wouldn't laugh Valdez." As she said this she uncapped it, shink! It turned into a beautiful sword. It kinda looked like your knife. One half was celestial bronze, the other half looked to be, ice maybe? The sword seemed to be radiating cold. Jaguar suddenly lunged at Leo, tackling him to the ground. She held the sword at Leo's throat. 

"Valdez, meet congelatio." She said with pride. "This was my mother's sword, until she passed it down to me. Be careful of what you say Bad Boy Supreme." 

Leo chuckled, well the best one could chuckle with a sword at their throat. "Lesson learned." 

Satisfied, Jaguar nodded. She got up and helped Leo to his feet.

Suddenly Nico spoke, "your sword kind of reminds me of Percy's sword Riptide. But minus the lipstick and ice. His is a pen. Also, why didn't you have it out while battling that cyclops?!"

Jaguar sighed, "it knocked it out of my hands, but for some reason every time I loose it, it appears in my pocket or bag." 

"Hm, Percy's sword does that too." Recalled Leo.

"Hey, are we just going to stand here comparing weapons or are we actually gonna use them?!" Exclaimed an impatient b/f/n. Daughter of Nike thing you guessed. 

So you guys partnered up. Leo partnered up with Jaguar, wanting a playful revenge for what happened earlier. Zion teamed up with David, and also b/f/n. That left you to team up with Nico. You heard he was almost s good at swordsmanship as Percy. You decided to look as this as an advantage. You get to learn some cool skills just by fighting and watching the other opponent. He struck first. 

You dodged it easily, you struck and he blocked it. It was like this for awhile, until you eventually saw the pattern, and you knew right away how to end it.

After he struck you dodged towards his 'weak spot' and immediately disarmed him. After getting over the shock he applauded politely. "Good job y/n. You kept me fighting for one whole hour."

Wow, already one hour went by?

"Thanks!" You say and you high fived him, giving him his sword. After that, you decided to go the target training area to practice with your bow and arrows. You practiced this for another hour, until you felt it was time for bed.

You greeted your siblings in the Apollo cabin, showered up, and went to bed, with a dreamless sleep.
