Zion's POV:

I'm really kicking my self. How did this happen? Why did I let David do that?

The worst of it is I can't tell wether he's alive or dead. I tried to reach to him through our empathy link, but I couldn't get through. It was as if someone was blocking the connection.

'Well, better check on y/n and b/f/n.' I glumly thought to myself. No doubt they think me a failure and hate me now.

I couldn't help but think how that event could have gone as I walked down the hall to b/f/n's room, still building up courage to face y/n. Trembling with grief, I knocked on her door. What opened the door was a just as miserable looking b/f/n. Guilt twisted in my stomach.

"Hey b/f/n, I just wanted to see if you are alright. How are you doing?" I ask, suddenly interested in the floor. I waited for her response.

When I looked up I was instead greeted with a hug, a strong one at that.

"I don't blame you for what happened to David. That was his choice. He wouldn't want us moping around because he saved you. We're gonna have to kick their butts for David." She said with a sad smile.

I felt something warm sliding down my cheek, tears. "I know, but that should have been me. I'm the protector. I was supposed to keep everyone safe, I feel like such a failure. David shouldn't have done that, at least I can be reborn as a plant, but he only has one life." I couldn't keep it in, it all just came pouring out. I also couldn't bring myself to talk about David in the past tense.

"Zion, you are greater than you are giving yourself credit for. You are a great protector, you brought Nico back and..."

"But I failed to bring back David and I didn't bring you back in top condition either."

"But you brought me back. We're demigods Zion. Half bloods aren't destined to live long. Especially powerful ones like David. You tried your best, and that's what matters."

Pulled away from her, "thanks b/f/n, I'm glad you're better. I ought to check on y/n."

"No problem. You can always come to me if you need weight off your shoulders."

With that I said goodbye and trotted off to y/n's room. Which wasn't to far away. I knocked on her door, bracing myself.

"Come in." Y/n quietly said.

I opened the door to see y/n lying on her bed, staring blankly at the ceiling. It pangs my heart to see  my friend like this.

"Hey y/n, is there anything I can do?" I say in a pleading voice. She turned her head to look at me.

"You have gummy bears?" She asked, indicating to the hand behind my back.

"You bet." I say with a friendly smile. She smiled back.

She sat up and indicated to the spot next to her. I sat down and brought forth the bag of gummies.

—————————————-

We just sat, ate gummy bears, and joked around. Y/n had a smile on her face whole time. Seeing as I succeeded in making her feel better, I left her on that happy note.

I walked back to my room, on my way passing David's room. I heaved a heavy sigh. "Don't worry David, I won't let anyone harm any of the others and I will find you."

The door didn't respond, as expected.

I continued to open my door. To be honest I have mixed feelings about the room Leo insisted I stay in. It was obviously a satyr that had previously stayed in the room, aside from the sent, the room was filled with the classic satyr pass for human disguise. What was uh...different...was all the boxing magazines and the ninja weapons. Along with the baseball bat collection. At least the room had a tv.

So I decided to sit back and relax while I can, a feeling that something is going to go down hard was mangled in my stomach. No...time to chillax.

Meanwhile...

David's POV:

I woke with a start. But I immediately wished I hadn't. Besides the pounding of my throbbing head, I felt drained of energy.

It's this place. I realized.

I took in my surroundings, but it took me a little long to process what I saw. What do you expect when you got hit in the head with a brick. There were metal bars all around me. The place so dark that it looked like the place hasn't seen light in ages. The only light detected was the light of my glowing bronze sword, since I just pulled it out of my pocket. The realization struck my brain just as hard as that brick. I am trapped in a cage.

I scowled under my breath. There has to be a way out of here! Maybe if I took my sword...

"Watch where you're swinging that sword boy!"

"Oh! Oops. Sorry ma'm."

Infront of me was a beautiful women that looked to be in her thirties. She wore an ancient sleeveless gown and her urban hair was pulled into an Ancient Greek hairstyle. I didn't have to be a demigod for very long to know that this was a goddess.

"Hm! Be lucky I can't magically do anything to you, boy. Or you would be wishing that you were never born." The goddess challenged. Behind her came a boyish chuckle. She scowled. "What are you laughing at?" The person behind her stood. He looked to be teenage boy with sandy blond hair and sky blue eyes. He had this casual look of a simple white T-shirt, blue jeans, and flip flops. A guitar was strapped to his back, a pad of paper and a pencil at his feet. I looked at the goddess in realization, seeing that in her hair was a wreath.

"Why your Nike," indicating to the goddess infront of me, who looked pleased to be recognized, "and your Apollo." The boy behind her smiled, "in all of my not so glory." He grimaced, but his smile returned. "Don't worry, we will get you out of here so you can get back to my daughter." Oh yeah, this is y/n's dad, this should be interesting being stuck with him.

"Ugh Apollo, stop messing with the boy! David, listen up. We now need to adjust the escape plan to victory." Said a younger version Nike, now now a teenager wearing jeans and a T-shirt saying 'I'm the champion', her hair tied up in a ponytail.

"Hey, why can't you use your godly powers to bust open this cage and get out?" As soon as I said it I realized it was really a very stupid question. Apollo rolled his eyes and Nike only sighed. "This cage has a power so strong that it snuffs out all other powers. The only power we have left is changing our appearance, it seems to...amuse them." Nike visibly shivered.

"Them? As in your captures?"

"Yes, and the cage is always locked. However, once a day they have someone bring us food to eat, and that's where our plan comes in," she says with a mysterious glint in her eyes. I grin.

"Let's do this."

Haha, short chapter. Love you all thanks for reading! Peace out! ✌️
