You Catch Your Stalker (Chapter 24)

You crept silently into the woods. Although it was dark, you could still navigate your way perfectly through the woods, thanks to the bright full moon. It wasn't a silent night either, the creatures of the forest could be heard, almost as if they were singing to each other. Even the trees seemed to sway to the forest song. You felt a cool breeze on your cold cheeks as you breathed the night's cool air, the sweetening sent of the forest filled your senses. You decided to stop your joy walk and rest underneath a large pine. All of your worries seemed to fade as you continued to listen to the chorus of the crickets. Being a daughter of Apollo, you wanted to give this forest tune a name. You finally decided that you were going to name it...

Snap!

You quickly spin around to see a dark silhouette doge behind a bush. The unknown thing must've been following you, but accidentally stepped on a twig. Ya, you are smart enough to figure that out, but what or who is stalking you in the forest?! Curiosity filled you up, causing any common sense to fly out the window. You unsheathed Moirai and cautiously approached the bush. 

Once you were close enough, you reached with your two hands and parted the bush only to see...

An innocent looking David shyly waving his hand at you. He chuckled nervously while looking at the weapon in your hands. You let out a breath of relief, but quickly  started frowning at him. You sheathed Moirai and offered your hand to help him up, which he took. 

"What do you think your doing?" You asked, narrowing your eyes at him. 

"Oh...I..uh..heard a loudish noise, and went to check it out and saw you walking into the forest. I was wondering what you were doing so I followed you." He looked at his shoes while saying this. 

This surprised you, did he think?...

"Did you think I was  running away?" You asked in a soft whisper. He looked more guilty as he nodded his head, not daring to look you in the eye. 

"David. I would never run away at a time like this. As much as I fear what is to come on the quest, I can't bailout, not now. As weak and hopeless as I am, I can't just sit back and watch to see if the camp gets saved or it perishes. I can't sit back and watch if someone like you gets hurt or killed when I could have been there to save them. I would never be able to live with myself." Now it was your turn to look at the ground, waiting what his response will be. 

"Y/n, look at me." He said in a soft, soothing voice. But there was something else, nervousness? There was a shuffling sound coming closer to you. You looked up into those beautiful apple green eyes, that were now just inches from your face. This made some heat to rise to your cheeks. "Y/n, you are a strong, brave, and beautiful person that anyone would be lucky to have as a friend. I don't doubt that you would never abandon this quest, especially without a backpack full of supplies. You are braver than any lion, stronger than Hercules could ever be, and more beautiful than Aphrodite herself. So please don't doubt me when I say I love you." 

Your eyes widened in surprise, your heart was beating a million miles an hour. Was this really happening? He took a step closer and gently grabbed both of your hands, as if they would break any minute. He was so close, you felt his warm minty breath spread across your face every time he breathed out. You could see every single freckle covering his cheeks, which was saying a lot because one could barely see them they were so faint. His wild brown hair blowed dramatically in the soft forest wind. And his eyes, they were filled up with so much emotion that it made your heart beat that much faster. 

"Is this a dream?" Was all you could say, you were pretty flustered at the moment. 

David leaned in even more, his face only centimeters away from yours. Looking into your eyes, he says, "Only if you wish it to be." 

There was nothing you could say, his green eyes held you captive. Time seemed to slow, and it probably literally did, you having the power to that. His hands released yours as they started traveling up your arms, where they grabbed hold of your cheeks. The whole time your eyes never left his, and his never left yours. Then slowly, he leaned in all the way, closing the gap between you two. 

His soft, minty lips danced across yours, causing yours to partner it. Your mind went blank and all you could feel is pure love and joy. Your hands snaked it's way up his chest and around his warm neck. This movement caused one of his hands to lower and wrap around your waist and the other to the back of your head, deepening the kiss. 

After only the gods now how long, you two parted for air. Ya we know, stupid oxygen! After catching your breath David started to lean in and this time you leaned in too. This caused a soft sigh to escape your lips, this was the best moment of your life. 

You guys broke apart again. You looked up into his eyes, only to see love. 

"I love you too." You finally say. Smiling. 

"So...will you go out with me y/n y/l/n?" David asked with a knowing smile. 

"Of course Spark Head." You return a playful smirk.

"Spark Head?" David asks, pretending to look hurt. You rolled your eyes playfully.

"It's almost morning, we should get some rest for the quest tomorrow." You advised. David nodded in agreement. So you two walked out of the forest, hand in hand, until you got to your separate cabins. To your surprise, and relief, everyone in the cabin was still sleeping soundly. For the rest of the night you had a dreamless sleep.

You woke up to Ray shaking you awake. "Wake up sleepy head! You need to eat! I'm starving!" She exclaimed in her childish voice. You sat up and grinned at her. "Ok, I'm still alive. Let's get something to eat." 

So you got up and walked to the bathroom to get ready. Once ready, you then walked to the dining pavilion with Ray to get some breakfast.

Hehe, I hoped this chapter was up to your guys's expectations. Sorry if it was a little awkward to some readers, I myself never had my first kiss yet!😝 I was going to make this chapter longer but decided to just cut short and update. I would like to give a special shoutout to FantasticHalfblood for inspiring to write this chapter sooner and I will update the next one soon.
