Peek-a-Boo! (Chapter 9)

You walked over to b/f/n with David and Nico trailing behind you. Once you greeted her with your secret handshake, you all walked towards the forest where the game was to be held. On the way there Nico explained the game to you, and where the boundaries were. Right when he started talking about teams, Chiron boomed out for everyone to be quiet. Once silent, he chose the team captains. "On the blue team, the Athena cabin is team captain, and on the red team, the Ares cabin shall be team captain!"

The team captains started getting their teams together. Athena cabin got first pick. "Hermes! Poseidon! Apollo! Nike! Hephaestus! Iris!" Announced the Athena cabin. Leaving the Ares cabin with the rest. You realized that the Hades cabin wasn't called on the blue team, you looked over at the son of Hades and realized that he looked disappointed. Was that because the Athena cabin didn't choose him? Or what if...no, that can't be it. 

You were jolted to conscious when your friends dragged you to the blue's team side of the woods. Everyone was discussing who was doing what. You thought for sure you would be on defense, but Annabeth and Percy must of seen that you were better for offense, taking the other team's flag. They also put a Latino looking elf on offfence with you. He wore a grin filled with humor and had a mischievous glint in his eyes. He had wild curly brown hair and brown eyes. You could immediately tell that he was the 'class clown.' Yet under the grin you could see something else...he was broken. Just like Nico in a way, except he hides it pretty well. Then you noticed that he was coming towards you.

"Hey chica! I'm Admiral Leo, Commander Tool Belt, Bad Boy Supreme, Super-sized McShizzle, Supreme Commander of the Argo II, and Flaming Valdez. Or you can call me Leo Valdez, the son of Hephaestus. What's your name bonita?" 

"Y/n, y/f/n." You replied shaking hands with him. His hands were warm, he seemed to be radiating heat, literally. You decided that you better keep an eye on him.

"Ten second warning!" You heard a voice say somewhere behind you. "Well that's our queue, com'on!" He draggs you over to your starting position. Off in the distance you heard a conch horn blew, signaling that the game has begun. As you silently began to creep off towards the left, Leo creeps towards the left, he too silently. Which isn't really surprising considering that he is super scrawny, he probably was as light as a feather! Wow, let's get back on topic. 

You kept stalking along, not running into anything yet. It seemed as if you were creeping along for hours! Finally you reached the clearing where there were two other campers, guarding the flag. You immediately recognize the son of Hades, beside Nico was what looked to be a child of Demeter. You knew that not all children of Demeter skipped around picking flowers all day, they can be pretty tough when they want to be.

You scanned around, then you saw him. 

There was the Bad Boy Supreme, up in a tree.

You saw that he noticed you because he started grinning like a mad man. He started moving towards the tree with the flag on it. Could this plan work? Should I distract? You were pulled from your thoughts when you heard a twig snap. You knew it was from Leo up in the tree, but thankfully Nico and flower boy didn't. They scanned around the area. Nico started to look in your direction! You held your breath afraid to make a sound, your pulse quickening. You could have sworn that he has seen you crouching behind  your bolder. But all those thoughts receded when he continued his gaze over and past you. You could breath again. 

Suddenly he whispered something to the son of Demeter, and then stepped into the shadows where he disappeared. Uh oh. You silently scowled under your breath. 

A few minutes passed, you looked up Leo. He was edging closer, almost at the flag now. You suddenly felt cold chills run up your spine. Your now mentality face palming yourself. 

"Peek-a-boo." A voice whispered behind you. Before you could spin around the son of Hades has you pinned to the ground, not making much noise. The child of Demeter now realizes that a certain Commander Toolbelt was about to snatch the flag in a tree. 

1) Just snatch the flag and run. 

2) you never want to be in a tree when a child of Demeter is around.

Leo finally comes to his senses and reaches for the flag, but suddenly and quickly he gets tied to the tree by a sudden growth of vines. Oh great. You thought to yourself, you begin brain storming a plan by looking at the current situation. You were pinned to the ground and Leo was tied up to a tree. You obviously had to be the one to get out of this. So you decided to make the situation awkward. You wandered wether di Angelo was ticklish. 

You started blowing into his ear.

"St..stop that y..y/n!" Squealed Nico between gasps. Your hands made their way sneakily up to his waist, and your fingers set to work. That's when the situation turned around. Now you were the one on top, tickling the heck out of Nico, grinning like crazy. 

Nico had the cutest, childish giggles ever! On his face boar a grin that looked like it hadn't been there in ages! It feels good to make him laugh. Wait...cut to the chase.

As soon as you were sure that Nico couldn't recover quick enough, you lept off him, dodge the child of Demeter, and grabbed Moirai and sprint/climbed to the tree where you cut Leo free and snatched the flag. While Leo distracted flower boy, you sprinted into darkness, heading towards your boundary line, the creek.
