So after that killer songbird fiasco, you realized that someone was missing. Nico Di Angelo. Did he go overboard?! Will won't be to happy about that. Maybe he's just in his room. Either way, you figured you better go check on the Ghost King.
You left the deck of the Argo 2 and started heading down towards the bedrooms. As you were about to enter the hallway, you saw the bathroom light was on through the closed door.
He must be in here. You thought to yourself. You softly nocked on he door, "Nico?"
No response. So this time you opened the door. He was standing in front of the mirror, but you startled him and he ended up shadow traveling. By his surprised look, it must've been an accident. Oops.
Then you realized that you have to go look for him, again. For he was obviously not in there to do business, he was way to startled for that to be it. You walked in on him thinking, but what was he thinking about?! Curiosity was eating you up, so you headed towards his room, you figured he be in there.
You made it to his door, and nocked a bit louder than last time, hoping he hears you.
No response.
Just as your about to nock again, he opens the door. "What is it?" He asks annoyedly, but not harshly. Well you got his attention, but what exactly do you say?!
"HeyNico!IwaswanderingwhereyouweresoIwentlookingforyoubutendedupfindingyouinthebathroombutInoticedthatyoulookedbotheredbeforeIscaredyousoIwaswanderingwhatwaswrong.sooosorryifIembarresedyouoranything!" You gasped out in one breath. Nico looked at you as if deciding an applewood coffin or a red pine coffin was better for you. Surprised he understood what you said, he replies with "come in."
He opens his door enough to let you in. As you walked in, you couldn't help but take in the details. His room was actually a cool temperature, but not cold. His room looked more like any normal teenage boy's room, minus the dark colors. Why people thought the Hades cabin to be more like vampires, you don't know. Overall he didn't have a bad room, it was kind of relaxing.
He sat down on his bed and indicated towards a nearby chair for you to sit in. You took the seat. As you did, you studied his posture, his shoulders dropped and his head hung a little. He had dark bags under his eyes, indicating his lack of sleep. Something was really bothering him.
"Are you okay Nico?" You asked softly. He paused a for a moment, but finally said, "No. Lately I've been having these...dreams." You could'nt really tell his expression, for he was not looking at you but at the floor. "What dreams?" You asked concerned, knowing dreams for a demigod can actually come true.
"Well, most of them are warnings from my father, he said to beware the broken cage for it is many to hold a child of the Big Three, and to bring back his helm as soon as possible in one piece and without mortal germs." He said this so casually, it was as if he was talking about another day at school. "Then I also had these dreams about..." he lost his voice, though he was still looking at the ground you could tell his eyes were watery. "...about my past. My time at the Lottus Hotel, when Bianca died, my period of loneliness and abandonment, the pain of my emotions, and the time I was in Tartarus. Though for some reason I feel it isn't meant to torture me, but warn me, if I or someone else won't do something, these things might happen to other people on the quest. I can't let anyone else go through what I had to." Only now did he look up at you, his dark brown eyes swimming with sadness and asking help.
"I can't promise that I won't let those things happen, for the fates always find a cruel way for it not to be so, but I can promise you that I will do anything I can to lessen the impact for when the time comes." You say reassuringly, Nico nods in agreement. "Don't worry Nico, if anything happens to anyone, please don't think it was your fault, for sometimes whenever we try with all of our power to prevent something, but it happens anyway, because we are simply human, almost, we are not perfect at everything but we can always try to be the best we can be." Then Nico did the unexpected. He gave you a short hug, but as short as it was it was very sincere. "Thank You y/n, you don't know how much that helped me. David is lucky to have a girl like you." You blushed a little, "oh, uh, you knew?" Nico nods. "You guys make a cute couple." You blushed even more at this. "Well...uh, thank you." Nico then opened the door for you, thanking you once again, "Anytime, if you just want to talk to someone, don't be afraid to, you can always talk to me too!" He nodded and shut the door as you walked down the hallway, probably to get that long needed sleep.
