Warning!!!! Little bit angsty!!!!!!!

Evan couldn't believe what his boyfriend was saying.

"You think the only reason I became popular is because Connor killed himself? What kind of sick monster are you?" Evan spat at Jared. Evan felt his world around him spinning, and he couldn't concentrate on anything.

"Think about it! Before, nobody cared about you. Hell, I didn't even care about you. The only reason I hung out with you is because my moms wouldn't pay for my car insurance if I didn't. But you became popular. People noticed you. They said hi to you in the hallway. You scored a date with the girl of your dreams, which just-so happened to be the sister of...guess who! The guy who made you popular!" Jared pointed out.

"That's not why Connor was so important!" Evan yelled.

"Then why was he?" Jared asked.

"Because..." Evan began, but his voices trailed off.

"Because why?" Jared implored.

"Because I loved him!" Evan shouted.

A still was in the air. The silence was so powerful, you could literally hear a pin drop. Jared couldn't hear anything except for his heartbeat.

"What?" Jared asked, even though he clearly knew what Evan said.

"I...loved him." Evan ran his fingers through his hair.

"I can't believe you." Jared stood up. "I can't believe that after all of this. All of it. You lied to me Evan. You used me to help kickstart The Connor Project. You knew that I had a massive crush on you, so you took that for granted. And you say what you need to say, and you played who you need to play. And if somebody's in your way, you'd crush them and leave them behind."

"That's not what I meant-"

"Well I guess if I'm not of use, go ahead you can cut me loose." Jared glared at Evan with piercing eyes. "Go Shea's now, I won't mind."

"All I need is some time to think-"

"You did what you had to do, good for you. So you got what you always wanted." And with that, Jared stormed out of Evan's room, slamming the door shut.

——————-

Evan stared at the beautiful aisle, taking in the view of the white flowers. The river beside the area was glittering, and seemed almost...magical. Soft music was playing in the background. If Evan were to trying think about it, the song "Think of Me," from Phantom of the Opera was being played on a piano.

A priest stood at the front. He began to speak about why everyone was gathered here, and how much this has been meaning to happen. He continued to talk while the music was playing.

Evan felt his heartbeat accelerating. He couldn't concentrate on anything the priest was saying. His breaths shortened. His head started feeling fuzzy. He felt his hands shaking.

"Are you okay?" Someone in a yellow dress asked him. She had curly brown hair, and a very nice smile. Evan nodded, and looked back at the front of the venue.

Jared walked down the aisle. He had on a tuxedo. He looked different than the last time Evan had seen him. His hair was better, he was slimmer, and he smelled like cologne. Evan felt his chest tighten when he saw him.

The best man, a guy who was wearing a red tuxedo, walked down. The ring bearer, who was a little boy with curly brown hair followed with a pillow for two rings.

People continued to walk down the aisle. Evan recognized a few people like Zoe, Alana, Brooke Lohst-Valentine, And her wife, Chloe Lohst-Valentine, Jeremy Heere, and he also discovered that the best man was Jeremy's boyfriend, Michael.

A song started playing, and everyone turned around. Christine Canigula, wearing a white dress with shirt black hair walked down the aisle. The song playing was "All I Ask of You," from Christine's favorite musical, Phantom of the Opera.

Evan saw the tears in Jared's eyes as he said I do. Tears that meant he loved that girl more than anything.

That should have been Evan up there.

Once again, thank you so so so much for the prompt, Dustin-Kropp!!
