Chapter 28: White Lies

Glenn: "..........this may be the end of our high school journey but our lives is just about to begin. Just like our favorite teacher said, "Make new friends and keep the old, one is silver and the other's gold." Congratulations to us batchmates! We made it! We graduate!"

I was crying holding hands with Selle and Des the whole time Glenn was delivering her valedictorian speech.

We all stoodd up, applaud and cheered for her as soon as she finished her speech. All of us made a group hug, crying together. Even the boys are crying too.

This is it. One chapter of my life has finally come to an end!

A couple of weeks ago I received the result of my entrance exam.
I made it! I was accepted in the school of music at a very prestigious university 8 hours away from here. Ronnie was the first one to know about it. He's very proud of me so as Aunt Fel, my parents and Deya.

I am still looking for the right timing to tell Jo about it. I am scared we won't survive long distance since he decided to enroll to a university close to home, I tried looking for a music course but they have none. I am still saving some guts to finally tell him I'll be going away for college. Im planning to tell him after the party at Glenn's house tonight.

"Congrats girls! This. Is. It! Were officially graduaes!!" Selle yelled while we group hugged each other.

"I know. I am happy and sad at the same time." Des answered.

"We all are." Glenn added

"True that. I'm gonna miss seeing your faces in class." i started crying again.

The three followed.

"Eheem. Uhm Can I talk to my girl now?" Jo said somewhere.

"You really know how to ruin a moment Joseph!" Des exclaimed as we all untangled our arms that were attached to each other. We wiped under our eyes for some smudge mascaras.

"Hey. Congrats!" I smiled sweetly at my man.

"Hi gorgeous! Congrats too." we hugged quickly.

"uhm, I have to say something baby. Im going somewhere important after this, uhm.. is it alright if you come home with your mom?" he said looking unsure

"I thought were like having lunch or something after the grad ceremony? Where are you going?" I asked disappointedly

"I know. Im sorry. it's just a bit urgent. family matter." he explainedz

"Oh.. ofcourse, Sorry I was just looking forward having lunch with you since I told Mom already you were coming but.. look, it's cool. I understand Jo Family first remember?" i responded smiling although i didnt mean it.

"I know you'll understand that's why I love you. I'll come and pick you up tonight for Glenn's party yeah?" he smiled sweetly.

"Yeap. I'll be waiting. Be on time!"i smiled back as I made my way back to my friends.

The graduation celebratory lunch was good. Mom has been asking about Jo the whole time. She likes him so much now. Gee. If only he's here I wouldve told my mom about us already. Im tired lying to my mother really.

We went home afterwards and I decided to have nap since its only 3pm. I still have 4 hours before going to Glenn's party I can squueze some 2 hour sleep, so I did.

I woke up at 5:30pm. I looked at my phone. I have a few texts from my friends and Johnson who congratulated me. I also have some notifications from my facebook, plenty of people liked my grad photos I uploaded before I had my nap. Nothing from my boyfriend. I feel disappointed but I shrug it away.
