Daisy POV

The door closes as Simmons exits and then it was just the two of us - Coulson and I. Perfect! Coulson is currently seeing up my side - I wince every now and then but the pain that consumed my body earlier has numbed me for now. He is being really caring, which confuses me because Whitehall said that he wanted to hurt me, to harvest my powers, to kill me. But he is being so caring like a father. He must just be trying to make me trust him. He doesn't actually care.
Whitehall is right.
Whitehall is like my father.
Whitehall should be obeyed.
Compliance is key.

Abruptly I am pulled from my thoughts as a metal clink sounds. Fear runs through my body as the sound reminds me of chains clashing as electricity filled me, an ominous laugh, an unbearable pain. But it is nothing more than a blur - I can't remember clearly. I can't remember. Why can't I remember?

Coulson stands and walks away to clear up - here is my opportunity. I slowly slide a blade from underneath my skin, it is small but it will be effective. Blood drips as the blade slips from my skin, I hold in the hiss of pain but it isn't a pleasant feeling.

Then I slowly lower myself from the gurney, clutching the blade in my hand - this is quite hard as my arm is most likely broken but as Whitehall said

Pain is your friend.

So like a mantra I repeat

Pain is my friend and take steps in time.

Pain is my friend - step -
Pain is my friend - step -
Pain is my friend - step -
Pain is my friend - step -
Pain is my friend - step -

I lift my arm - causing pain to shoot through but pain is my friend - and prepare to pounce
