Meanwhile at the Institute...

Alec's POV

"I'm going to see Magnus tomorrow. I've had enough of him trying to come here!" I snapped.

"I don't think that's a good idea," Jace sighed.

"Jace if I don't, he'll keep coming. Is that what you want?"

Silence.

"You're going to have to tell him," Jace added.

"I know. But how can I when I know what it will do to him?" I sighed.

"It doesn't matter. Magnus deserves to know the truth"

Now:

Alec's POV

How can I do this? I thought. Currently, I was in front of Magnus's loft, too far to knock but too close to be able to be seen. I forced myself to move closer and before I could knock, the door opened. It was Cat.

"Alec?" Cat asked, bringing me back to reality.

"Is Magnus home?" I asked, shaking.

Cat was about to reply.

"Come in, Alexander," Magnus's voice spoke. I looked up but didn't move closer. We stared at each other for a while before I cleared my throat and stepped inside.

"I-I..." I started.

"To be honest, I'm surprised you came here. Why did you..?" Magnus asked, breaking the awkward silence.

"Mainly because I'm tired of you of constantly coming to the Institute," I answered.

"You knew (autocorrect changed knew to 'knee')? Alexander, I wanted to see you! Why didn't you just come greet me? I don't understand, I-" Magnus started but stopped when I showed up my ring finger. "Alexander... you're married?" Magnus gasped, turning away to hide the tears.

"His name is Zach. We've been married for a year," I explained.

"Are you... happy?" Magnus whispered.

"I am. But there's something else I need to tell you...." I whispered sadly.

"What... is it?"

"I have a son and-"

"I bet you're a good father, Alexander"

"Magnus... he's yours"

With that, Magnus turned around to face me.

"I have a son? What's his name?" Magnus asked, forming a small smile.

"Max. I want you to get to know him, that is if you're interested," I answered.

"Alexander... I would love to"

I smiled and turned to leave before stopping in my tracks.

"Magnus, if you don't mind me asking, where were you for five years?" I asked.

"Hell. I didn't have a choice, I made a deal with-" Magnus answered, stopping in mid-sentence.

I sighed and walked over to pull Magnus into a hug.

"Don't you dare leave us again, you hear me?" I whispered in his ear.

"Always," Magnus whispered back.

I pulled away and left the loft.
