"Mommy I want puppy" Lily tells me as we're eating dinner
Tonight Justin is sleeping over because it started storming a lot so it wasn't safe for driving
Luckily his mom was okay with it so it's fine
"A puppy? Why?"
"Cause they so cute and small and fluffy and I want one"
"I'll think about it okay"
"Okay Mommy. Hunter friend do you have puppy?" Lily asks Justin
"I do"
"Ahhh really what's the name"
"His names Toby"
"THAT SO CUTE"
"Do you want to see a picture of your brother with him"
"Hunter?"
"Yeah"
"Okay yes please"
He takes out his phone and shows her a picture. I also see the picture and it's his dog laying on Hunter licking him
"Ew when did you take that?" Hunter asks
"A couple months ago it's cute" he shrugs putting his phone in his pocket

"So Justin tells us about yourself" Jack asks once I bring Lily up to bed
"Um I'm 13 my birthdays May 2. I like to read. Uh I play football and baseball. And I generally get As and Bs"
"Oh so you're smart"
"He's super smart. He never gets below a 100 on tests"
"That's not true" Justin says with a shy laugh
"Yes it is and you know it"

We finish our conversation and now I'm laying in bed waiting for Jack to get out of the bathroom
The storm is really bad that it is almost to hard to go to sleep
"Mo-momma" I look over to my door and see Lily standing with her blanket
"Aw baby you're shaking get over here"
"I-I'm scared" she hops onto my bed and into my chest
"Shh it's okay" I start to rub her back as she cries in my chest
"I-it's so loud"
"I know but it's going to be fine"
Soon a loud clap of thunder and lightning strikes and she shrieks and puts the covers over her head
"Ahhhh"
"Baby it's okay"
She is physically shaking and I just feel so bad
Jack finally comes back in the room and lays down
"Wh-Who is that. I-is it a rain monster" lily asks feeling Jack lay down
"No baby it's just daddy" I say can't helping my laugh
"Oh" she crawls still under the blankets to jack and hugs him
"What's wrong?" He asks her
"It so scary outside"
"Don't worry I'll keep you safe okay"
"Okay keep my mommy safe too"
"Of course." Lily pulls my hand to lay closer to them and she lays in the middle of us
She puts her blanket over me and her and moves inside my arms
Then she moves jack over and puts his arm over us
"Yay perfect" she kisses both of our cheeks and starts to fall asleep
"Night night mommy and daddy I love you"
