Me and Jack just bought our tickets to France and we're going in two weeks for one week
"I feel like such an adult" I tell Jack after we confirm the tickets
"Babe you have four kids most in high school, you're married, and you're in your 30s but somehow buying vacation tickets is what makes you feel like an adult"
"Hey I'm a teen at heart"
"Speaking of teens we should probably tell them we're going"
"Well of course but not right now cause I just want to kiss you right now"
"We will have plenty of kissing on our trip. Do you want a preview" he smirks

It's the next morning and we're all (excluding Lily and Jack who are of course asleep) at the table eating breakfast and I'm going to tell them about the trip
"Me and Dad have to talk to you guys about something."
"Are you pregnant again?" Hayden asks
"No not that."
"That's a surprise you're always pregnant"
"Okay first of all shut up and second listen to what we have to tell you"

"So me and Dad are going on vacation in two weeks. Lily's staying with Grandma but I trust you guys alone so you guys will be alone for a week. If you want to hang out with anyone just text me or dad that you guys will be out of the house and please make sure to lock the door I do not want any strangers breaking in."
"Wait you guys are going on vacation without us" Ellie asks
"Yeah. Me and dad are constantly doing things for you guys and it's our turn to do something for ourselves"
"But we haven't gone on vacation since we were babies"
"And when Lily's old enough we'll go again"
"Ugh Fine"
"Well you didn't really have a choice"
"Wait while you're gone can we have a party" Hayden asks with a smirk
"Hmm let me think NO. You guys are way too young to be having parties with alcohol and getting drunk"
"Mom not all parties have alcohol at them"
"Well it's not a party if there isn't so no"
"What if we promise the only drink will be soda"
"How will I know it's soda"

"Well it's up to him I said yes you gotta see what he says. But remember one no still means no even if there was a yes once"

"Hey who knows maybe he'll switch it up and say yes"

"Hey why didn't you guys wait for us" Jack says with Lily coming downstairs
Jack sits down and Lily sits on his lap
"You guys sleep forever so"
"But mommy that no fair you have to wait for us"
"I'm sorry but you can still have some" I try handing them a plate but Lily crosses her arms and turns away
"No I mad at you"
"Seriously"
"Shh don't talk to me I mad"
"You're making me sad. Now I'm going to cry" I fake cry and she quickly hugs me
"I Sorry mommy I don't mean to make you cry I love you" she kisses my cheek and I smile at her
"Yay. Well I have to tell you something that might make you mad at me again"
"Oh no don't tell I don't want know"
"Well I have to"
"Fine"
"Me and daddy are going on vacation in two weeks"
"Wha-what" she says her voice shaking. Suddenly she starts crying not just any crying BALLING
I quickly get her from Jack and hug her rubbing her back
"Shh don't cry"
"I-i going to miss you so much"
"I'm going to miss you too but we're only going in two weeks"
"How long"
"Only a week"
"BUT WHAT ABOUT ME. Where I gonna go"
"You're going to grandmas house but you'll have so much fun you won't even know I left"
"Yeah I will I won't see you or daddy it so sad"
"I'm sorry"
"It okay I guess but next time I want to go"
"I promise the next vacation you will okay"
