"This place is so nice." I whisper to Brad and move closer to his side. I've never been a huge fan of big crowds. For some reason, they make me want to run away. Which I could easily do because I make sure to note all exit routes. I don't know why I do this but my escape skills are impressive.

"It's not that nice." He smiles and I blush. I'm glad I decided to wear a nice dress tonight. I'm starting to think that they would not have allowed me in had I not. Even Brad looks nice. Not in a suit or anything but nice black slacks, a black button up shirt, and a burgundy tie.

"Did you need a reservation?" I ask him quietly so that no one can hear. Its not a lot of people, don't get me wrong. It's just a small line of people waiting to confirm their reservations to sit down.

"I did but it was pretty easy to get in." He bumps me gently and I smile.

"Whatever you say." I rub his arm gently and let it fall to my side. Don't wanna be too handsy.

"Hi there. Did you have a reservation?" The lady asks us and I smile as Brad gives her his name. She looks on the iPad and grabs our menus.

"Awesome. Timothy will show you to your table." She hands the menus to a man and he smiles kindly, leading us through the sea of white table cloths and crystal. Timothy pulls my chair out and pushes it in for me as I sit. It's weird and so unusual. This feels like a place you would not have your second, maybe third date, at. It seems like the kind of place you take someone for a special occasion, like proposing or something.

"How exactly did you get this reservation?" I ask softly and lift the menu so I can look at it. A super tall glass of wine would be perfection but I suppose a regular glass will do for now.

"I booked it a while ago and forgot to cancel. They called today to remind me and I thought it was fate when you asked me out. Is this too weird?" He asks and I want to giggle. I want to laugh. I do. I just can't help but feel a little sad. I know I'm here with him now and that's all that matters, but it's hard to not think about someone else being here with him.

"Not too terribly weird." I smile and spot a waiter who looks like he's coming for our table. I really really really hope he is.

"It's weird, I know-" he's interrupted by the waiter, "Good afternoon, how are you two this evening?" He asks and I take a deep breath.

"Wonderful. How're you?" I ask him and he smiles.

"Great. Can I start you off with any drinks?" He asks and I nod.

"We'll get a bottle of red. You can just top us off as we go." Brad tells him and I smile.

"Sounds good to me." I say softly and tuck my hair behind my ear.

"Perfect. I will be back with your wine." He smiles and walks away. I turn my attention to back to Brad and take a deep calming breath.

"It's a bit weird but we're going to have a good time." I tell him as evenly as I can. I'm nervous for some reason. More nervous now than I have been since I had to talk myself up to go say 'hi' to him.

"Okay. Good." He picks his menu up to look at it and I do the same. They don't do appetizers here but according to the menu, we should have bread soon, which is comforting.

"See anything that you like?" I ask Brad and he smiles.

"Yeah, I think I want the steak, you?" He asks and I shrug.

"I had a salad for lunch so maybe the chicken." I bite my lip and hide behind the menu. I have this overwhelming feeling that something bad is going to happen.
