"Hey, wanna grab lunch for us?" I sit the files down at Jordan's desk. Wow, I didn't think they would all make me carry them down by myself. I mean I know I have to file them but some help would have been appreciated.

"I can't today babes. This meeting has me crazy busy but you should go get us some." She smiles up at me apologetically. I lean against the desk and smile.

"Want an americano and a burger?" I ask and she nods.

"Yes, please." I laugh and stand back up, grabbing all the files.

"Okay. I'll be back." I walk down the hall and kick my office open, throwing the files onto my desk. I should really do something with those before I leave. I roll my eyes and unlock the bottom drawer of my file cabinet, which is thankfully empty. I put them in there for the time being since they'll be secure in there.

"Hey, gorgeous. How bout some lunch?" I shut the drawer and turn to face Dan.

"You made me carry that stack of files downstairs all by myself." I scold him and he smiles charmingly, as if that'll get him out of this.

"I'll pay." He offers and I scoff before sitting at the computer to pull up the restaurant's online menu.

"I'm not letting you off that easy." I tell him as I add things to my order. Out of the corner of my eye, he sits down in the chair across from me and puts his feet on my desk. "Please don't put your nasty feet on my desk." I tell him, reaching across to push them off. He groans and leans forward to lay on my desk.

"Get out of the office and come eat with me. You're hangry." I turn to him and sigh.

"I'm irritated because I have so much to do today before I leave and I have to leave on time which means I only have a little time to get everything done. Today was supposed to be easy after the meeting." I turn back to the computer and click the button to order. I want to pull my hair out when it asks for my card info. I knew this was coming so I don't know why I'm so flustered at it.

"Yeah, heard someone called out on you." He says and I reach onto the floor to rummage through my purse for my debit card.

"More like said she was never coming back. She wasn't a good employee to begin with but at least she took a little off of me. I'd have Jordan help but she's been directing calls and visitors all day." I groan as I sit back up, without my debit card which was left in my clutch from last night because I'm an idiot.

"Wish I could help." He mutters and I grab a notepad and a pencil to write my order.

"You can. Go order this at that restaurant beside us for me and Jordan and all will be forgiven. I left my debit card at home." I hand it to him and he looks at it confused.

"What are you eating?" He asks and looks back up at me. I take a deep breath.

"Don't have time to eat." I turn to the computer and log into our program so that I can add everyone to the program. I'll have to type it all in by hand and then email it all to security so that they can get their ID's. It's usually not an issue except today we just brought 20 new people in and they all need ID's before they leave so they can log into our system.

"Jesus, Natalie. You have to eat."

"I'll have my coffee. I'll be fine. I only have to make it until 3:30." I tell him and he sighs.

"I'll grab you a side salad, okay?" He asks and I half smile and nod.

"Okay. Thank you." He shuts the door as he leaves the office and I grab the files out of the bottom drawer to begin typing in all the new information.
