"Vanilla latté with an extra shot of espresso and a strawberry bagel with low fat cream cheese." I hand him my card and he swipes it before handing it back to me.

"To-go right?" He asks and I nod. It's the same man from last night.

I stand in the corner and wait for my order to get done. My watch pings and I glance to see that it's just Jordan. She says that she's parked and waiting for me. I should have got her a bagel too. I guess we can share mine and I'll buy her lunch.

"Natalie." He says and sits the coffee and bagel on the counter. "Thank you!" I grab the things and walk outside, almost bumping into someone, who stopped before me.

"Fancy meeting you here. I guess our schedules aren't so off." Brad surprises me and I smile.

"I guess they aren't. Probably 30, maybe 45 minutes off." I stand a little straighter and he pulls his hood off, wiping his face with his sleeve. I look away. He is delicious. I love a man who cares about his health.

"You have time to join?" He asks and I smile. Shit, Jordan.

"Gotta get to work but I will see you tomorrow, kay?" I look behind him and see Jordan's car parked. Hopefully she didn't see his face or she'll know immediately who he is.

"Yeah, have a good day." He walks past me and into the café. I hurry to Jordan's car and slide into the passenger's seat.

"Who was he? He looked yummy." She says and I feel a small ping of jealously but push that deep, deep, down. He isn't mine and Jordan doesn't know.

"The guy that i'm seeing tomorrow for the doggy date." I tell her and she clicks her tongue as she starts driving towards work.

"Girl, better do it doggy style." I hit her arm lightly and blush.

"Stop. It's not like that yet and I don't even know if he's interested in me." I tell her and she looks at me, shocked.

"Oh honey. I forget that you haven't dated in so long. I love you." She laughs.

"It can't have changed that much since I did date. I mean I'm sure I would feel something if he wanted me."

"Babes, I don't think you would know if he wanted you if he came out and said it. You're kind of oblivious sometimes, especially when it comes to the opposite sex." I roll my eyes and decide to change the subject.

"Guess who called last night?" I ask her and she hums as an answer.

"Dan. He offered me a job and stuff again. He's sending tickets and stuff."

"You turned him down again, didn't you?"

"Yes, about touring with them but I might have agreed to monitor their social media for him. He's sending over a contract today so I'll know more once we get into the office." Jordan parks the car and I grab my stuff before getting out.

"Why don't you just tell the man yes? He obviously wants you really bad."

"He doesn't want to have sex with me Jordan." We walk in and I cringe. I said that way too loud.

"Not what I meant." She sits at her desk and gets a plate and cup out. I pour half of my latte into her cup and split the bagel.

"I'll be down for lunch. If anyone calls for me, send them to my work phone. I'll unmute it today. We shouldn't have the Alex issue again today." I give her one of the cream cheese containers and begin walking to my office. I rip the sticky note off and hold it up.

Call me

Thomas

I unlock the door and step in, sitting all my things under the desk. I log into the computer and sigh. I hate answering emails and there are so many. I'll call Thomas instead. I dial the number and wait.
