More people started getting sick. There was about fifteen of them. God, I don't know what we gonna do. I don't think any of us wanna see another life loss. These people needs medical attention.

I've hardly seen Conner this last two days. Is it because he suspect that I'm hiding something from him or is he just busy doing his own thing. My biggest fear is that he won't accept the baby. That's one of the reasons I'm hiding it from him for now. I decided to check up on him, so I walked towards his hut. I didn't take him up on his offer to move into his hut, as I'm still a bit unsure of his feeling for me, although he told me that he loves me.

"Maddie, could I have a quick word with you," I hear Hannah say as I walk past her, so I stopped and waited for her. "What's up Hannah." She shows me some papers to look at and I saw names on there. I didn't understand straight away, then she takes it out of my hands and point. "Look, I've worked out what the last meals was of the patients before they got sick. All fifteen of them ate the canned meatballs we still had and we ate fish. Remember the night we made the fish and you said that the ones that wants some meatballs instead of fish, could have some. I think we didn't have enough fish to feed everyone."

Realization dawned on me. "Oh my word, they all have food poisoning." Hannah nods her head at me. I tap my fingers lightly against my lips and think. I remember in one of my studies they talked about food poisoning and which herbs to use in an emergency. "Ben," I called out. Hannah looks at me confused, but I start moving away from her and start talking to Ben.

"Ben, remember when we searched for herbs and we saw those one herb growing everywhere, but we didn't take some at the time." He nods, "yeah what about them." I smiled. "Well, that is the culinary herb and it contains a powerful blend of antimicrobial compounds, such as carvacrol and thymol, that can help the sick ones." Ben looks at me as if I was talking Greek, so I pulled him to where Hannah was standing and took the papers from her to show him.

"Ben, all these people on the list has food poisoning and the sap inside the plant will help them get better." I explained to him why only these people got sick and that we need to get rid of all the other tinned food.

Ben started shouting for some of the men and explained shortly what he needed and told them to get ready. "Ben, I know you don't want me to go with, but you guys need me to show you exactly which herbs to get, as we don't have time to waste." He didn't argue with me, so I ran to my hut and changed my clothes quickly and grabbed my backpack, just to run into Conner when I came out.

"Where are you off to Maddie and what's the commotion about." I explained quickly and tried to walk past him, but he blocks my exit. "Conner, I don't have time for this, these people needs help and we can only pray that the more serious patients will pull through." Still he blocks me and I looked up into his eyes in question.

"Maddie, I'm not gonna stop you to go. I just wanna tell you that I'm so proud to have you as my wife. Everyday I learn more things about you and it makes me love you even more." I stood there with my mouth hanging open and then he came closer and kissed me lightly, then moves out of the way for me to go, so I walked past him and the guys were waiting for me.

It took us nearly an hour to get to the herb and we pulled out as much as we could, then picked some oranges as well, before heading back to the camp. I explained to them how the herb should be given to the patients twice a day, but we giving the patients who has been sick longer a double dose. Everyone started helping the sick and we've cut up the oranges and squeezed out the juice for them to drink.

The only thing we could do right now is to sit and wait. I was feeling very tired from the walk and running around, so Hannah came to check up on me and I assured her that I was fine, but feeling tired. I sat by the waterfall with my feet dangling in the water, when Conner joined me and he starts massaging my sore muscles and boy, it felt so good.

"Conner, what were you up to these last few days, as I haven't seen you, except at meal times and even then you were hardly talkative." He chuckled next to my ear and I feel the goosebumps all over my body at his closeness. "Well, my sweet wife, it seems that I'm not the only one who keeps things to themselves." I feel my body tense up at his words. "Don't worry baby, I'm not gonna force you to tell me anything until you ready, so relax."
